We would like to appreciate the richness that Yorktown and the surrounding areas have to offer, and this is the place to do it. Mungumby Lodge is about 20 minutes south of Yorktown, but it is superbly located between the bloomfield coast and yorktown yet tucked away in it's own forest and garden world. We found that the accommodations were immaculately clean and properly maintained, yet a big part of the forest's environment. The common areas include large verandahs with tables and couches where guests can enjoy the tropical mornings and evenings. The local walks are beautiful and provide an insight into the local transitional forests and the rainforest environment. The hosts isabella and hamish are great, generous, and incredibly helpful with their advice which led us to our visits to Quinlan country, the rocket, and to various waterfalls and lookouts in the area. The icing on the cake was an evening at the nearby renowned lion's den hotel, which provided a great pub meal, excellent drinks, and a lovely vibe thanks to the resident must!

This place is perfect for a quiet place, if you come to Cairn it was the perfect place to stay for one night. My wife, daughter, and I had exactly what we needed. The atmosphere here is really calm, with beautiful, spotless rooms, and a very comfortable breakfast.

I stayed here for four nights. The setting of this place is beautiful. The hosts are friendly and supportive. The wooden cottages in the rooms are carefully constructed. The communal homestead area is a charming, tranquil space where you can have a great breakfast and use it at any moment. It has both a microwave and a nearby dining area. Various kitchenware and dishes are provided. This is not a place you should miss. You must drive very slowly and carefully if you're leaving Yorktown at night. There is a wide variety of animals along the route, including many frogs. A nice place to unwind, take part in local walks, go to museums and other attractions, and so on. I'd love to come back.

About Mungumby Lodge

Stay at Mungumby Lodge in Rossville, nestled within a national park, steps from the Wet Tropics of Queensland and Mungumby Creek Nature Refuge. This guesthouse is a short drive from Caloola Private Nature Reserve and Ngalba Bulal National Park.
