We found this retreat to be very quiet and clean and close to the village of Bangalow which was very handy as we were visiting family in the area. Our Palm View room was delightfully setup with tropical views and a very comfortable big bed. Our room was made up every day which we appreciated and our own spa bath in our room was a soothing treat. What we loved the most about staying at Summer Hills Retreat was the walking trails in the mornings which we thoroughly enjoyed being in nature. And also being able to have a refreshing saltwater swim in the estate's pool in the afternoons which I might add that this pool sports stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges - this is a very beautiful, very lush and very green location. We opted for the breakfast basket during our stay and also the couples side by side massages and both options were great. As far as serenity goes, this place ticks all the boxes and we felt completely rejuvenated in only a few days. The staff were very sincere and couldn't be more helpful, booking us restaurant reservations, taxis and in letting us know all there was to see and do in the area. The manager made us feel very welcome on our own personal tour of the estate. This retreat is genuinely all class and all heart and we can't wait to get back there for a much longer stay - we are already planning our return trip to Australia and Summerhills will be our main stop next time. Highly recommend this retreat to anyone that wants to deeply relax.

We had a wonderful time at the Summerhills Retreat. The grounds and facilities were great. Francesca was very welcoming and genuinely cared about our experience. We had a very relaxing and stressful stay and will be back again.

We had a short gateway from Brisbane after our wedding day. The manager, Francesca, was very attentive and accommodating. She gave us a little tour of the beautiful gardens. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Great spa bath for two, fully equipped kitchenette and plenty of towels. Our bed was made up and supplies replenished each day (although I did not expect that in this type of accomodation - so pleasantly surprised). Infinity pool provides peaceful views of the emerald green valley and a perfect spot for watching one of those unique Australian sunsets. Driveway to the property was something out of a fairytale with magical trees embracing a windy road. We did not get to check out the walking trails around the property, which I am sure are breathtaking. About a 5 minute drive to the historical town of Bangalow with crafts and arts shopping galore. About 20 minutes of picturesque drive to Byron Bay. We had an amazing time. 5 stars!

We really loved our stay at summerhills retreat, the walks were lovely, the cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed and we saw koalas on our morning walk. lots of beautiful birds and wildlife at the property. loved the spa bath and appreciated having our own kitchen and bbq. the hostess was very good in the advice she gave us for restaurants and what to do in the area. A tranquil piece of paradise and easily the highlight of our trip in Oz. We would defanately go back. Very relaxing and peaceful place.

The Summer Hills Retreat is exactly that. A beautiful property in the hinterland just outside the main town of Bangalow. We stayed in the Villa which is an upstairs self-catering apartment. The spa for 2 helped with a relaxing and quiet evening. Neighbours were noisy at times but that could not be helped. Walks around the property offer beautiful views across the valleys east and west. The pool and deck were inviting but too cold to use in Winter. Indulged in a massage, which was good but not an in-house masseur. The cabins looked like they would be worth paying a bit more than the villas as you have no neighbours and better views of the valley.

Summerhill stands in gorgeous farm fields, rich with trees and singing birds. It is not in Byron Bay. It is in a tiny charming town of Bangalow which is about a half an hour by car. Taxi will cost you $60 Au dollars each way from Byon Bay!! So clearly understand this. Also if you do not have a car then you must hire a taxi for all meals including your breakfast. If you want complete tranquility Summerhill is a lovely place to share with your "other half"

location: the facility is in Bangalow , 15-20 min away from Byron Bay town where most shops and restaurants which is just ok if you travel around that area. facility: This is a bit old facility. Compared to other facilities that I recently stayed in Noosa Sunshine Coast and Gold coast, I think it is overpriced as there is no cooktop in the room the view is not ok as mostly you will see the roof( almost 40 or 60 m2 colourbond from your room with palm view ) There is no restaurant belonging to this facility ( so every morning we had to go to Byron Bay town to have a breakfast) although the host told we can book for the breakfast I wonder where she could cook or buy them and there is a shared kitchen downstairs but I found that it is not fantastic to get down to cook the shared kichen in every morning. Overall, Although the host is nice and friendly, I think it is a bit overpriced($399 per night) considering location and old It
