An excellent location right in the middle of everything. I had a private room, which was spotless and really well appointed. The rooftop bar was a great place to hang out and meet people and even better the drinks were cheap. Parking available for a charge and the staff were all lovely. Highly recommend

The stay was great! A friendly hostel, with nice activities. I liked the yoga class, and the breakfast after the class that make me meet new friends. The location is perfect, and accept the stairs in the entrance, it was very accessible and comfortable.

We stayed here in January 2024. The check in process was seamless, in addition very helpful and friendly staff. The hostel is immaculately clean and modern. The staff go above and beyond to assist with any inquires or needs. The bed was extremely comfortable and noise levels were very minimal. Location is right in the heart of Byron Bay township. I highly recommend this hostel and will be a returning guest.

Amazing spacious clean hostel with very convenient location to main beach and town. Spacious clean kitchen with lockers and boiled hot water and filtered cold water handy in the kitchen. Beach towel and surfboard provided for free. This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed and I would definitely come back again.

Probably the nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in globally. Private room was great - comfortable bed, good ensuite, air con. Hostel facilities also great - huge kitchen which was always clean, big social area on the roof with activities so easy to meet others. Super convenient location walking distance to everything. Staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I absolutely recommend this hostel! Amazing hostel. Celine at the front desk was really nice, kind, and helpful when we arrived, assisting us with our bags and letting us into our rooms. This hostel is spotless! It felt like you were in a hotel because we had a private room with a private bathroom. The bathroom was also quite large, and the room was of a great size. You won't have to worry about getting in someone's way because the kitchen is huge, and there are many storage spaces in cabinets and refrigerators. The location is fantastic.

What a beautiful hotel! The hotel has been nicely renovated, the staff is friendly with extensive local knowledge. The rooftop bar is a great place to relax in the sun in the afternoon. The hotel is in an excellent position, walking distance to everything. The underground car parking is also excellent. We will be back!.

What a hidden treasure! Wonderfully scenic location with a lively beach vibe. You may choose between renting a room with a balcony and a bathroom as a hostel/backpacker atmosphere. The queen suite, in which I stayed, was spotlessly pleasant, tidy, and furnished with new toiletries and towels. There is also underground parking available for 10 dollars. They have a small rooftop bar that offers specials and weekly events, and you also get a complimentary drink upon arrival.

I wouldn't stay here again, but we would look at a different room type to make sure it wasn't in an alley. The surf house is extremely well-kept. We stayed in a private room with a safety, the room is a good size and had everything we needed, the only drawback was the noise, we were positioned at the back of the hotel with a view of a small lane where garbage delivery trucks start at am 1 truck 2 trucks followed by construction work opposite that starts at am. Didn't really use the amenities, but enjoyed the shared kitchen and the rooftop bar I can see as a great place to mix and mingle with other guests. We received two free drinks when we checked in and they also offer something to guests to enjoy every night at the bar. Parking is 10 dollars.

This hostel is fantastic! My boyfriend and I recently stayed here, and when we arrived, they said we had been given a free upgrade, which was really helpful after a long coach ride. The kitchen is spacious and comfy, all around is spotless, and the staff is lovely. The location is ideal: the beach is only a few minutes away, and all the stores and other amenities are close by. A buddy of ours stayed at the wake-up and had to walk 25 minutes each day to meet us in the center. He was able to come over and hang out with us, and we asked the hostel if he could come and hang out, which was greatly appreciated! Every day, there is a lot of social events, as well as $ 5 Happy Hour drinks! A backpacker knows how to feel at home at The Surf House. Without a doubt, I would return to this hotel. I don't want to go out.
