Lovely room with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The room was clean. The only problem was the towel didn't smell fresh. Very serene and beautiful. Helpful owners. Decent breaky continental was ok but the omelette was very good.

I strongly recommend spending the night here if you plan to visit Obertraun because it's cheaper than Hallstatt and still a lovely place with many things to do. One thing to keep in mind is that they do not provide breakfast, so you better bring what you need to go to Hallstatt to make full use of the fantastic kitchen. The hotel is very comfortable and the hosts are very helpful and pleasant. It was a bit difficult to locate the place, and we had to drive around for a while. Keep your eyes open for the bike rental sign on the front facade. maybe not such a permanent reference, but it might help. It is more than a hotel, I prefer a private apartment. You get a fully equipped kitchen, living room, large dorm, comfortable bathroom, and plenty of space. There are board games, a dish washing machine, and lovely decor. Obertraun is a beautiful sight and very close to hallstatt, so if you plan on visiting the area, I would definitely recommend spending the night here.

I cannot say enough good things about this lovely place. The hostess, Heidi and Hubert, were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The apartment was large and well-furnished. We stayed for three nights, but we realized we could have stayed longer because we had felt so at home there. The apartment was roomy and well-equipped. The bedroom had a double bed, a sizable bathroom with a shower, a kitchendining area with a microwave, a kettle, a coffee maker, and a dishwasher. There was a private terrace for relaxing on and spectacular mountain views. There is plenty of room for parking outside the property. There was also bike hire available on the property, but we didn't have time. A bakery was a 5 minute walk away, and the five-digit cable car was within walking distance.

We had a great time staying at Apartmenthaus Sumpf. Owners live on the first floor. Groundfloor are 2 apartments available for rent. The Obertraun itself is a peaceful lakeside location with all amenities close by, and each apartment is spacious with a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The house has a yard with a small pond. They also rent bikes. It's a perfect choice for those who intend to travel to Hallstatt. It takes 10 minutes to drive from the apartment to Hallstatt. The host, my. Hubert is very pleasant. An unforgettable stay is assured.

We were looking for a little bit less expensive when we visited hallstatt. We were traveling with another couple, and we wanted to stay in a family-style unit. It was found in Obertraun, which is about a 10-minute drive from hallstatt on the opposite side of the lake. Inns are located in a lovely little village with a small market, drugstore, bakery, and restaurant. The innkeeper has two units on the ground floor of their home, which they rent to families and couples. Our apartment included a master bedroom, a fully shared bathroom, fold-out beds in the living room, a kitchen, dining table, television, and a lovely patio deck facing a beautifully landscaped yard with a stream through it. Self-serve coffee was provided, and we park in a guest location directly in front of the house. The innkeeper met us at the door and opened our apartment, answered our questions, and suggested breakfast the next morning. The establishment is very well-maintained, and the owners are very friendly. This is the place to stay if you're looking for an alternative to the pricier hotels in Hallstatt. I
