We will recommend this place to anyone who plans to stay in the Austrian mountains and will definitely be back. Great service and kind hosts. We were well taken care of. The room was really warm and comfortable. The heated floor in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise. There are many channels even if you focus on outdoor activities in the filzmoos region. Breakfast is the crown of the place with a wide variety and lots of eco-friendly handmade goods, including bread and jam.

Checking in was simple. The friendly owner just handed us the room key after we gave him our name. The room was clean but a bit small as was the bathroom with a shower stall. The bed was comfortable. Although our room faced the main road, it was possible to sleep with open windows until the nearby church bells chimed in the early morning. Breakfast was plenty with all the usual options.

We recently returned from a wonderful visit at the Ess in filzmoos. It is centrally located, clean, comfortable, with good coffee and a delicious breakfast. The proprietor was very helpful and welcoming. Check in was simple and our key cards were waiting in the key safe for us. The owner sends a text with the code before arrival. We had a balcony with some beautiful views, while our friends had a larger familystyle room without a balcony. The room had a fridge, coffee maker microwave if you wanted to provide for yourself and a supermarket just down the road. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We would love to return in the winter.

I stayed at Pension Ess in January 2013, we arrived and were shown to our rooms, they love the use of pine wood for everything, but you're in a ski resort, what more could be expected? Lovely big doubles, very clean, comfortable beds, even though all in Austria and even cheeky chocolate on the pillows! Breakfast was fantastic, fresh coffee, tea, all the usual european breakfast essentials plus some english cereals. Overall a great stay, very nice owners and staff, fully recommended!.
