The history and architecture of this mill dates back to the 1500 s. And this place is wonderful. Within the small village of Ellixhausen, it is peaceful and serene. The ground-floor public space is open to all. The hosts gave us an opportunity to put up a fire in the wood stove after we had complete access to the kitchen. A mini bar is actually a wonderful little cellar with a trap door to gain entry! With all kinds of beverages, brews, and snacks, it has an inventory. After a day of sightseeing in Salzburg, we were eager to return to the old mill to unwind. Our hosts gave us a delicious breakfast every morning, were very helpful and pleasant, spoke English, and were excellent in providing us with assistance.

We stayed for 2 nights and were satisfied. Excellent location, great location, and excellent service, as well as extremely friendly owners! Heuholzmühle is 20 minutes from Zalzburg and 10 minutes from great lake matter hiking trails. Check matter town as well, it's definitely worth it!.

This historic structure has been carefully restored, preserving its traditional architecture while still remaining cozy. Our room, Die Schenkammer, was pleasantly big and roomy inside, much bigger than you would anticipate when you see it from the outside. It was immaculately tidy and had everything you required such as a wardrobe, a large, comfortable bed, a desk, etc. A bathtub was available in the restroom, which was similarly large. Breakfast is served in a shared dining room, which has a fireplace and several cozy chairs to enjoy. The basement has a decent coffee machine to use, and cold beverages and some basic snacks are available for guests at very reasonable prices. The entire house has free WiFi that functions very well. The guests will visit Salzburg south in 15 minutes, while the truer view of the region takes 15 minutes. Although it is highly recommended to have a car, we discovered there are numerous biking trails in the area. Christianina, a kind host, recommended parking in Salzburg, nearby eateries, and a few recommendations for places to see. The area is a lovely location, and she was incredibly understanding when we had to be cut short by one day because my husband was ill with a cold and fever. Not only is this a fantastic location to explore southern Salzburg while enjoying a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, but it's also ideal for exploring the countryside.
