The hotel closes early on sunday. Arrived on a sunday about 2100 hotel closes early on sunday. We had to take a room and door key from a box on the wall outside. To let in, there was a total lack of place and silence. The room and hotel are very lovely and old-fashioned, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and the staff wearing traditional Austrian attire is very polite and helpful. Many german visitors. Looks like this hotel is used by business people rather than family, and the surrounding area is calm and laid back. Would return, but not on a Sunday evening.

This hotel has large, very comfortable rooms with private balconies, and our suite had a raised heart shape hot tub and an amazing spiral shower room. The lake views from the windows and balconies were breathtaking small wonders that gustav list painted it at least 50 times over many years. Everything about the room, except the hot tub, was luxurious and comfortable. The hot tub, however, had some controls missing and didnt work as it should. The bed was very comfortable and there was an additional couch in this large room. Breakfast was very good except for the coffee machine which forced you to have the coffee it wanted to provide, not what we wanted to drink. The waitress kept aggressively taking away every plate she thought we didnt need and seemed to wait impatiently for us to leave. The evening before we arrived, we received an email informing us that when we arrived the hotel would be on a rest day and that a key would wait for us but no reception desk would be available. We managed, but in a 4-star hotel, it might not be extravagant to have 24 hour service someone to whom you might get a cup of tea at night, for example, or who might make the coffee machine work. Nevertheless, the great rooms and stunning views were enough for us to consider returning.

I spent 3 wonderful nights in a spacious, fantastic room overlooking the lake, and I can't fault it's cleanliness and amenities. The breakfast was first class with hot food that was prepared to order, and the selection of fresh bread, fruit, and beverages first class. The dinner menu and food were also excellent and certainly worth staying in. There was a seminar, however, there was only a few bars seating.

There is an amazing lake that surrounds this place. When you visit this part of Austrian Salzkammergut and you are there, the experience is unforgettable. Don't forget to stay at this family-run hotel with an excellent restaurant. Dinners are very delicious, nicely set with a lovely view of the visitor. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The room is very large with the best lake view. The largest lake in Austria.

The room was large and the view from the room was great. Picturesque view of Austrian snow mountain with very calm and pure lake. The hotel, I must say, is a bit outdated but clean and warm room. Would love to come back during the summer for a nice walk around the lake.
