Snorkeling right there great! Fishing excellent too. Kayaks, fish poles, snorkeling gear all free to use. Staff hospitality unbeatable! The service wonderful. They even arranged puddle jumper plane and boat transfer so fun and snorkeling trip!

Thank you to the team at Tranquility Bay for making our stay so special. From the welcome drink and the night time fish viewing to the excellent meals and the snorkeling, we had a magical time and would love to return.

We had a great time there. The people really wonderful. The only two criticisms we had was that they had Maxwell house coffee and they had two types of wine, one red one white both unremarkable, but their food was terrific.

Beautiful area and beautiful people. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Guided fishing and snorkeling tours bring people right next to this resort, because both are so good right there. Long rental golf cart ride to get there, but then you have mobility. Loved it!

You can't beat the location! The reef is so close that you can snorkel right from the beach. We loved our stay.

My husband and I just returned from Tranquility Bay Resort, and we absolutely loved this place! It truly looks like a picture of a tropical paradise. The accommodation was great. The AC was quiet and worked very well, and our villa was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We had our meals (breakfast and dinner) at the resort restaurant and found the food to be very good. The people working in the restaurant showed amazing hospitality and treated us like family. My husband enjoyed fishing right in front of our cottage. All fishing gear and bait were provided by the resort. The sargassum didn’t affect us much—several people were cleaning the beach every day, and the ocean current at the resort carries the sargassum away and doesn’t let it accumulate. We went snorkeling daily directly from the resort shore and were lucky to see an eagle ray, a stingray, and a nurse shark. However, some days were better than others, and on some days we didn’t see much. We took two snorkeling excursions from the resort: to Shark Alley/Hol Chan and to Stingray City/Mexico Rocks. Both excursions were unique, and I highly recommend them. Thank you very much to Vincent and Leo, who made our experience so enjoyable.

We stayed at Tranquility Bay as a family of four for 4 days and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful secluded resort with a well maintained nice sandy beach. We came here for the snorkeling and it was a great place for our 8&9 year old to learn. There are a few small reefs (~20-30ft wide) that you can swim to from the beach. The water remains shallow for quite a distance and there are some sand bars you can stand up on. There is also an outer reef ~500 feet from the beach that can be reached by Kayaks (provided by the resort). What is special about Tranquility Bay is that the outer reef is very close to shore, whereas further south along Ambergris caye the reef is over 1km away from shore. We did kayak out to the reef and the channel that opens between the outer reef and the protected shallows. But snorkeling this area is challenging for a novice. The most memorable snorkeling we did was a boat ride tour the staff took us on to Mexico Rocks/Stingray City. The entire staff were very hospitable and made our stay enjoyable. Manager Axcel has done a great job. Sitting on the deck for meals and taking in the view, the undulating waves, fish and sunset was unsurpassed. A bonus was fly fishing from the dock - our 9 yo was thrilled to cash 3 fish in the span of 3 hrs! They will even serve what you catch! Downsides: the resort is far from San Pedro (30min boat ride $225 return, 1hr by car?$150) and secluded. 6 meals in a row of chicken fingers was a bit much for our kids.

Superb service and fresh delicious food. There seems no end to how hard the staff work to make the guest comfortable and happy. From the owner and management and all the staff the friendliness and attention to detail made our vacation one of the best we have ever had. It is on a beautiful bay with lots of fish and great snorkeling.. We are already planning on coming back. It is like a family here.

The cabana was clean and spacious, welcoming and very comfortable. The staff bent over backwards to ensure that we had everything- and anything- that we needed. We left, today, with tears in our eyes, and a longing to return.

Evangelo Arvanetes,
Tranquility Bay Resort is the perfect place to get away and enjoy Belize. Our house was literally right in the beach. Snorkeling and swimming are musts. The food is excellent especially the breakfast. The staff was gracious and professional. The owners were amazing. Thank you Tranquilty Bay!

Very remote. Reef close enough to swim (about 5 min for decent swimmer, straight out from the northernmost villa). Reef was amazing. Beds were full size and matress was - like a camping mattress to my back.

This is a very secluded, quiet, and beautiful place. The cabanas are clean and updated but need dishes, utensils and other basics so the kitchenette would be more useful. Local fishing and snorkeling are excellent. They had two kayaks that weren’t functional since they leak. Staff was very helpful and the restaurant food was excellent. They cooked our fish and made an amazing and beautiful meal. My only complaint is that they didn’t have good kayaks and the kitchenette needs to be better equipped. Easy problems to fix.

The location and overall vibe of Tranquility Bay are top notch. The staff, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Axel, the manager, seems to be the only adult on site and when he is not there the seemingly adolescent staff neglect their duties with glee. Dinner service is a joke, requiring a “pre order” and if you don’t pre order you’ll wait at least an hour for food and then the staff will tell you it is your fault.

It is in a great ,tropical ,beautiful , quiet location , can go out your door and snorkel. The food was good but took a real long time, manager said breakfast was included when we arrived but when we went to pay the bill only the first day was included the bar tender told us. This with other things not communicated made what could have been a great trip into a average trip, the manager complained most of the time . The rooms need updating, toilet didn’t work well a few things falling apart like a missing step with exposed nails at the dock were you swim.

The manager Panny and the 7 staff members (all his family members) were helpful and extremely interesting, but regrettably the property was simply horrible. Extremely outdated, dilapidated, filthy, barely functional, extremely uncomfortable. Worst hotel experience we have ever had, as if we were in an adult hostel in the jungle (for the price of a luxury resort!!) that was literally without water at one point. Some of the restaurant meals were quite good, but our average wait time for food was almost 3 hours!!! The place is awash in bugs inside and out, no WiFi, we had to chase the “staff” down to clean the room, one bathroom had no door, the stairs to the upstairs were treacherous and very unsafe, the bathrooms were very dirty as was property in general, there are wild dogs walking around and sometimes attacked us, no tables to put a drink down on beach chairs, quite a few unhappy visitors to the restaurant (due to the lengthy wait time) and elicited loud arguments. This was hotel hell and we were just glad to have survived!! Sorry to say it, but stay far away from this place—it is not tranquil except for maybe a short visit.
