My family and I stayed in a triple room at the Milan Hotel for four nights. Overall, this was a poor experience. The receptionists are unable to speak English. Our room was rather old and had a cigarette smell, making it difficult to close the window. All but one of the electrical outlets in the room were broken and not functional. One lamp switch broke and the small lamp near the bed would never be lit unless we removed the bulb for the night. Breakfast was included in the hotel room rate, however the first morning we learned that breakfast is actually served in a small restaurant a few hundred meters away from the hotel. Breakfast was simple and just rice congee zhou and soy milk. To my surprise, I was even urged to pay an extra yuan per person when ordering breakfast. Although this is a small fee, the room I booked already included breakfast, so I can't understand why they asked for an additional fee. After that, I returned to the hotel and asked for a refund for the ununused breakfasts. There are few restaurants and bakeries near the hotel where breakfast is much preferable. The only principal positive aspect of this hotel is its location, which is not far from the forbidden palace and conveniently located near Dongs Station Metro lines 5 and 6.

As some reviews have mentioned, the staff was very helpful and friendly, but not rude. Maybe it was because we spoke in their language, but it was their dialect that made them seem rude. The location was also excellent because it was close to small retail stores and Wangfujing Street's elite tourist shopping area was within walking distance. The twin bed was large enough to sleep comfortably. The blankets were quite heavy and thick enough for our sleep. The room has a flat-screen with several regional channels. Cons of the room carpet is dark coloured. It appears to be dirty. We stayed for 5 nights and they didn't change the small towels, but just changed the big ones.

We stayed in a group of 6 individuals and traveled to Beijing last Thursday, 2225, 2012. This hotel has a small entranceway and is in the middle of Dongs South Street near stores and clubs. Wongfujing Street, a center square, is a minute away. We made reservations through Papplication and were pumped, only to discover days before our trip that yi lan overlooked Papplications emails and did not have a record of our booking. Thank goodness for our tour operator beijingtours who gladly checked and confirmed we were not booked. I immediately called the Papplications hotline and asked them to rectify the situation. Because they had to search for a Mandarinspeaking customer service representative. The customer service representative contacted me in the following day to let me know that they were able to contact yi lan and book 5 rooms. As a result, we werent much worse than that in our room, which at least improved the terrible start. The bed was cozy, and the comforters were very thick. The room has a heateraircon, and the shower also has a heater. They have slippers for the visitors. Theres hot water for coffee, cup, and other items, however, there is no cabinet for clothes, despite numerous small cabinets for shoes and other items. Although the to doesnt have a
