My experience is well-suited to what other users Bringbackbuck 8 and Rob I have already written. Apparently this was a home inn brand hotel before seeing old yellow pictures of the building, but clearly has been renovated and turned into an ibis quite recently. Our room was small and very basic, but really clean and furnished with relatively new furniture. Also there was a laundry room and a library. The breakfast buffet was pleasant with a variety of the typical Chinese breakfast dishes. There was also a toaster with bread, butter and jam. Coffee was pretty good. The immediate area does not offer much in terms of food, but we did find a few restaurants and a convenience store across the street and then south for a while. Most of the time, we just hopped on the subway and headed north towards the center.

Despite having limited English, the employees were friendly and attentive. Even though the rooms are tiny but quite tidy, they don't smell like years of cigarette smoke. There are a ton of powerpoints to use as recharging. At night, the location is simple to locate because they illuminate signs on the street frontage and at day it is harder to locate because it is set back from the street in a car park and we missed it the first time. Location is adequate. The temple is nearby and the subway is useful. There aren't many dining options close by, but it's fine for one night. We didn't test the hotel's food footbal.

You book an ibis anywhere in the world and you know what you are getting. Clean, compact, and affordable. This was exactly what it was. It's 200 m from tiantandongmen subway stop exit I and across the street from temple of heaven park. It is in a hospital's parking lot and slightly away from the road. The pictures on this listing must be outdated, much nicer looking, and bear all the usual ibis logo. Easy subway access means only the city, tiannemen square, etc. If you arrive during the workday, it will be recommended. The journey to the hotel was rather painless, taking about an hour and 10 minutes using the airport express or subway. It took 40 minutes and 135 yuan including tolls. I had an early morning return flight, and a taxi to the airport cost 135 yuan including tolls. The downside is that there isn't much to do in the area in the evening, there are few food choices, and I can't see any bars or shops. Overall, a good base to explore the city on the metro, but for a better tourist experience, Id stay north dongsaeng near hung and lakes.
