This was my first time staying at a hotel in the city. I got a very spacious room at a reasonable price. The room size is big, clean, and quiet. The restaurant's food is delicious, although it's spicy.

The breakfast buffet is barely three stars. We stayed during the winter on another visit, the heating barely worked. The gym is just an excuse not good enough. The hotel is probably the best in town, but it claims a five-star rating is wildly overstated. Make it three and a half. Rooms are large and clean. A good restaurant for lunch or dinner. The furnishings and bathroom are uncomfortable. The room's light is subpar.

We spent three nights in this hotel while visiting relatives in xiangyang. The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the cod, and the express train stop is about 45 minutes by taxi. The check-in process was pleasant and quick. My wife is Chinese and handled all our communication in the local language, but I never had a problem finding someone at the front desk who spoke clear English during our stay. This is a resortstyle hotel with huge grounds, beautiful gardens, and walks. I anticipate that it could be quite busy during the summer, or that multiple conventions were scheduled. It was a lovely, calm oasis to stroll around in early spring. Our room was spacious, spotless, and wellkept. The room and the entire hotel were a little antiquated. It might be described as colonial, but it was still lovely. The air conditioning was a little noisy, but it performed it's job. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains made for a restful nights sleep. It was pandemonium! They ran back out and had a conference outside our door. Ultimately, after a few confusing conversations through the door, they left. The restaurant was of the same style and quality as the room, with a large and effective shower. Overall, this was a nice hotel in a small city. I came to xiangyang on business trips and stayed at the Shanghuang hotel. It has an English name paragon hotel. It has a nice swimming pool and more of a resort type hotel. It's not far from the cod and there are 2 Starbucks at 1. 6.30 am away from the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and was baffled by how I could get such a nice room for such a little price. It's a resorttype complex with a large pool and very nice rooms. The beds are wonderfully soft which is always a concern when booking hotels in China. The rooms are clean and nice. I would go here again anytime.
