The room was poor. On the contrary, the view of the lake was worth everything. If the budget is adequate, you must go to the state guest house or the four seasons Guangzhou. Choose one. Fi, the two restaurants taste good but are pricey.

We spent 4 nights there. The gardens and surrounding area were fantastic, we adored the walks and the scenery. The rooms were nicely furnished and quite spacious with a balcony, which was a real treat to return to. Breakfast was also delicious, with a large selection and possibilities. The evening meal was the same, with plenty of variety, just like in these hotels, but it was a little pricey, and the staff was unable to communicate in English. Don't let that deter you. Westface is worthwhile to visit, it is definitely one of the best hotels that I would highly suggest.

First visit to the hotel, the entire experience was conditioned by poor service. The location is wonderful, impregnated by a very distinctive and selective atmosphere due to the important historical events and leaders that the hotel has hosted in the last decades, the views of the west lake are amazing, the facilities are more than decent, the rooms are large, refurbished and clean, the swimming pool is great, the spa is good, etc., but the service was terrible. The major reason is the language barrier, the vast majority of the personnel did not speak English. I can understand why it is not uncommon to face this issue in Asia despite being nothing an English-speaking person and paying usd 400 per night. The problem was that even excluding the language barrier, the service was very poor. The waiters chased us with the order procedure, brought the check without asking for it, watched out our meal, putting themselves besides us making a quite uncomfortable atmosphere, terrible behavior at the pool they refused to lend us swimming caps at the pool obliging us to buy them at a reasonable price of usd 15 per cap, and the general feeling of frustration that it was difficult to complain about anything because they don't understand or want to understand you. For the absence of the previous, I would like to highlight the serveress who assisted us at the tea shop of villa 6. She was efficient, friendly, sharp, and charming

In November 2018, I traveled to Guangzhou with my teacher and coworkers. Guangzhou is cloudy and a little cold. First, we went to the west lake. The weather was cloudy, but there was a lovely view. The water was clear, and the air was fresh. The bus ride to the wet land museum took place the following day. Although it was a little rainy, we still enjoyed our visit because we were in the building. The wet land has fascinated me quite a bit, and I learned a lot about it. On the final day, we visited the Yue Fei temple. I learned about yue fei's history and died for his nation, so I thought he was truly courageous. This trip is wonderful, fun, and I've discovered a lot.

I did not appreciate this hotel, the grounds were so beautifully kept, and then the general building, and then, the room itself was very clean and had good maintenance, after that, the front desk didn't have enough employees at the moment, and then, I think I stayed in building 5, but it was still ok.

West Lake State Guesthouse in Hangzhou is the official designated hotel where the Chinese state leaders met and hosted state dinners with foreign heads of states during the G20 Hangzhou Summit and the BRICS Leaders Meeting.
The hotel is located at the heart of the West Lake Scenic Area and is therefore known as “the West Lake within the West Lake”.
