A fabulous location on a very private beach. Although convenient, the large supermarket and other shops aren't far from the city. My studio bungalow was clean, comfortable, and roomy, and had everything I required for a beach vacation. Quiet aside from the occasional airplane noise, it is not a big deal and not a busy airport. Nice furnishings and good value for the money. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, and they keep the place tidy and well-kept, including sweeping the beach! The kitchen includes a rooftop, a microwave, and a refrigerator along with all the usual kitchen supplies. The outside deck includes a private bed, a table, chairs, and sun loungers. The beach is clean, a bit shallow for swimming and lots of coral, but suitable for using the included kayak.

I spent a week here alone and wished I had stayed longer. I was in a beachfront studio that was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, across from the oasis store, next to the brewery, and a short distance from the beach. It has two substantial sun loungers and a dining table send a bed. There was a washing machine on site but I would have preferred my own clothesline or rack. Unfortunately, I had few nights of sleep due to disrespectful guests, but this was with Allie, who is a benefit to the property. I would undoubtedly stay again.

I would stay here again when traveling to rare regions. In May 2018, my husband and I stayed here. The proprietor, Alibi, and his staff were very accommodating, allowing us to check in early as our overnight flight landed early in the morning. Our bungalow faces the beautiful, bright blue lagoon and surrounding reefs in the setting, which is gorgeous. There are only 3 bungalows, 2 studios, and one two-bedroom. We had a studio that was closer to the ocean. The beach here is suitable for swimming, though you should be alert to the rocks and coral water shoes are highly recommended. You are not really walking distance from many attractions, so I would suggest renting a car or a scooter if you are staying here. It was perfect for walking around the island because we used a scooter for the week. The gas station across the street with basic groceries and drinks, the rarotonga brewery next door with great beer and kombucha, and Vaginas fantastic local restaurant down the beach with live music a few nights a week are all within walking distance. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the little kitchen was all you needed on vacation to prepare breakfast and the occasional meal as well as a fantastic grill on your lana overlooking the water. Hot water takes a minute because it is fueled by solar power, but you will eventually get some!

Three beach bungalows are very well equipped. Every day, I cooked breakfast and lunch in my kitchen and found all the utensils I needed. On-site laundry facilities, free kayaks, and free snorkeling equipment are available. The hammock on the beach is the perfect place to relax and read in the morning. The oasis service station across the street is not only open 24 hours a day, it is also well stocked with clean eggs, hot foods, and fresh vegetables for salads. The best part is Tanja and her wonderful team who will go above and beyond if you need anything. I would not think twice about staying here again.

We stayed in the king studio for 12 nights. If you decide to book here, you are not getting brand new 2018 accommodations, but you are getting a taste of the real McCoy of the Cook Islands. It is a family run business that welcomes visitors as guests rather than tourists. It faces the beach and is a few steps away from the welcoming South Pacific. A true South Pacific experience.
