I spent two weeks there and couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended! I never got lost in the complex tasks and the well-maintained primate groups are a treat. The rooms are spotless and good amenities in the middle of a rainforest. It's a bit of a bumpy ride to get to the station, so prepare yourself for that.

El Kota was amazing and is on my list of places to return and see more. The drive in was bumpy and long, but it was worth it. I felt quite secluded here and enjoyed feeling so at home in the middle of a rainforest. The trails are beautiful and full of biodiversity we saw so many different animals it was amazing. I came with a school group and el kota was perfectly set for this type of group. There was a classroom, a library with lots of ecology and wildlife books. Most of the rooms had multiple bunk beds and shared bathrooms. The rooms were sufficient, though the mattresses in the bunks werent the most comfortable. I plan to return with my husband and staying in a single cabin with a double bed and private bathroom. The kitchen was great and I loved all the food I had here. They serve three meals a day. Theres a bar on site to buy beer at night if your not too exhausted from hiking. The grounds close to the lodge were beautifully landscaped. Everyone at el kota was incredibly friendly. I enjoyed my stay here.
