The staff were accommodating and always willing to help. Our room was lovely and as advertised online. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. The pools were wonderful and our spa experience was extremely positive. Overall good value for dollar. Our only complaint would be the cost of a poolside drink - it was wild!

This is our second stay and although we love the beauty of the location the hospitality wasn’t quite as accommodating as our first trip. We were there for a 60th bday and engagement and wasn’t a lot of notice to that. It was a bit more crowded than our first trip and think we’ll come back in July again for smaller crowds. Food is always good and can’t beat the sunset views from the infinity pool.

This resort has it all from delicious breakfast to excellent front desk concierge's service. Set on a high ridge or mountain in a nature reserve with spectacular views of the ocean. Easy access to the beaches thru a residential neighborhood. Plenty of nature to see with Howler monkeys at a safe distance in the trees throughout the resort and neighborhood. Access to the Nature Reserve trail is available from the resort but bring sturdy mud type shoes during the rainy season. We stayed in Room 31 which was very spacious for three guests (2 bedrooms) and has an excellent view of the jungle and ocean.

This was likely the best place I stayed during this trip to COsta Rica. Beautiful rooms, beautiful view. Comfortable bed, clean bathrooms and nice pools. I also saw a few coati , monkeys and birds. I guess that the main negatives would be that when I went on the hike in the forest around the property, there was this section with wooden posts across water that was a little difficult to cross and I may have gotten a little lost and there was a barking dog by itself on the trail which could have been bad if it was more aggressive, but it ran away. Also, I got lost going to the beach. However, all these things (including the unpaved drive to the place) could be seen as part of the Costa Rica experience (wild jungles, etc. Overall, I liked the place. Also, the food was extremely delicious.

This hotel was a perfect 10/10. The service was impeccable, probably the best I’ve had in years, staff is nice and welcoming, always willing to help you with any of your needs or questions. Communication with front desk is ideal, when you arrive, they give you their whatsapp number which allows you to book the restaurant, ask them questions or book your shuttle. Talking about the shuffle, we did not see anything about it when booking, but they have a free shuttle from the hotel to different locations (beach, town, etc.) This is perfect for people like us who don’t have cars as it is not the easiest accommodation to access (doable by walk of course, just a little far away from the town.) Very clean! Food-wise, it was impeccable ; from breakfast, lunch, snacks to dinner. Everything we ate was delicious, with lots of flavour and freshness and quite good portions. It is not THE cheapest menu but it is worth it considering the quality of the hotel and food. We felt like in a luxury dream, even though the price per night was a very okay price. The views are of course breathtaking. We were two sisters travelling there and everything felt peaceful and safe, even when walking alone in the roads or in the biological reserve. Oh. yes!! There is a free entrance for the biological reserve, a beautiful walk of around 1:30-2hours (beware of bugs, but with bug spray, you’ll be good.) Anyways, thank you so much Lagarta Lodge for making our trip this fabulous. We will back for sure. Pura Vida

This property is world class. The guest relations team is so friendly and helpful, the rooms are absolutely stunning and huge! The pools are gorgeous, poolside service and restaurants offer healthy and delicious options. Breakfast is included- panoramic views of ocean, river and mountains, the property is well maintained and in a super safe neighbourhood. Offers yoga classes and a variety of activities. Well worth the 10 min drive from Playa Guiones for some quiet serenity. Can’t wait to stay here again next time I return to Nosara!

Gorgeous setting, incredible sunsets, friendly staff. We loved looking out from our balcony or the infinity pools onto the bioreserve jungle below. We had an upper floor room (#9) right next to a tree that regularly had birds and howler monkeys coming through. Very peaceful. Spacious room. The food and drinks are at US resort-level prices, and there are no other places to eat within a 15-minute walk, so plan accordingly. The shuttle into town works well for daytime beach visits or lunch out, but the last shuttle back is at about 4:30 so if you stay in town for dinner you need to take a tuck-tuk back (uber not available here).
