If we could give Hotel Sanctuarium more than 5 stars, we would. My partner and I arrived as guests and left feeling like family. From check-in to our reluctant departure, we were treated with incredible warmth and care. Every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in making our stay special. We highly recommend this boutique hotel, and if you’re lucky enough to discover this hidden gem, don’t hesitate to book! A special thank you to Danny and Yeraldine at the front desk, Jerry the operations manager, Kevin the concierge, and Fabiola, Jaricza and Dayana at the restaurant and bar. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made all the difference. The property is absolutely stunning and brand new, having opened in December 2025. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with flowers throughout, wildlife roams freely, and the peaceful river landing is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. The pool area is fantastic, featuring heated and non-heated sections, plus a wet bar that makes it easy to enjoy a drink without leaving the water. The food was outstanding. Every meal exceeded our expectations, and the cocktails and mocktails were clearly crafted with creativity and love. We came to Costa Rica hoping for adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. Hotel Sanctuarium delivered all three and more. Thank you for making our trip so special. If you want to disconnect in luxury with incredibly attentive staff, this is the place to be. The property is a true sanctuary, peaceful and private, everything is spotless and new, and the service was exceptional throughout our stay. Just as important, the restaurant was excellent and easily the best food we had during our entire trip. Highly recommend!

When we arrived my wife and I we were welcomed by Jerry and Geraldine from the firs moment they makes us feel VIP . All of their staff share the same goal to make us feel important, and we were. My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Sanctuarium for 5 nights for her birthday and 5 stars doesn’t express how much we enjoyed staying here. Every staff member from the front desk to our personal concierge to the restaurant/bar staff was top notch. They greet you everytime you enter the property, they decorated our room for my wife’s birthday, they give you tours around the hotel, they notify you when a macau is in the trees, etc. they take care of all the little details that made an amazing experience. Genesis and the restaurant staff were so friendly and welcoming Everytime we stopped by for coffee and a delicious meal. She made us feel as if we were friends before our stay! Yeraldin, Kevin and all the staff were incredibly nice and made us feel so at home while staying with them. They answered any question we had, opened the door for us EVERY time, and brought the nighttime tea to our door every night we asked. One of a kind service and attention to detail. For a new hotel, they are as experienced an anyone out there! Highly recommend anyone to stay here and you won’t be disappointed. The property is gorgeous, not overly crowded, wildlife walking around constantly, and offer couple massages down by their private river oasis! Thank you everybody from Hotel Sanctuarium. Pura Vida!

Splurged for a nice hotel for a few days in La fortuna. This place was wonderful. Great location a few minutes out of town but still restaurants and things to do nearby. This is a beautiful property with lots of wildlife and a peaceful river you can walk down to. You can see the volcano clearly from the pool and front area. Feel more like a resort than a hotel. The staff was very attentive and they all remembered my name. Great breakfast as well, I would stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

There is nothing bad to say about this hotel. We loved it. The staff, food, amenities, and location were outstanding. Staff made us feel at ease and comfortable as if we were guests in their own home. We had the opportunity to meet the owner of the hotel. Although he did not speak English and we do not speak close to any Spanish, he made us feel like he cherished our business and smiled continuously. Besides all of the aforementioned positive comments, the hotel was accessorized with beautiful artwork. One can visit the river below the hotel by following a well designed path which leads to an area where one can sit to enjoy nature. My husband are I were lucky to have found a gem without breaking the bank. We would definitely visit again. We wish this hotel great success as it is a new hotel.

We stayed here for a few nights and the only complaint is that we did not stay longer. Which is totally on us. The staff here was exceptional and we met the owner who is a local man just getting this property moving the start of this year, which is why there are so few reviews. So glad we got in early, and wish it was our little secret, but the owner and staff were so great, we want them to succeed! This is a great property. Super nice, but approachable. Property is brand new. Kevin and his team were so hospitable. Their level of service was just wonderful. They provided a to go breakfast before we left for a 6 am excursion. They led us on a hike in the back of the property. We enjoyed the friendly check-ins throughout our stay. So attentive to our needs. Not to mention the stunning views of the Arenal volcano at sunset and stunning sun rises. Very special place.

This is a new property and every is perfectly manicured and every detail was carefully thought out. It truly is a sanctuary and a very relaxing and magical place to stay. We were here 7 nights and truely made our trip feel like a vacation. Everything was exceptional from the 5 star food and the staff was excellent and memorable. All of them were very friendly, attentive, and happy to assist you. You can tell they care about their job and the resort and it's visitors. Felix the owner at one point came by the pool and bought my partner and I drinks, which was a very nice gesture and left a good impression on us. We learned more about the property and his 3 year journey to make it what it is. I would definitely come back here and highly recommend this place!

If you are staying in fortuna… stay here!!!! The staff, the facility, the rooms, the food all are five star!!! The owner was on site and absolutely the most gracious man ever! The in room spa services with chocolate and coffee scrub was a piece of heaven. My first solo trip to Costa Rica and I will absolutely stay here again. Close to the activities and a quick Uber ride to town. All an amazing experience I was planning on one night and I stayed four. I would never leave this oasis.. no kids lots of birds and flora.. decorated beautifully and thoughtfully. The staff was top notch!!! Attentive and fluent in English. Just a wonderful place!!!

Tuve una estancia increíble en el Hotel Sanctuarium, y sin duda alguna, lo que hizo toda la diferencia fue el nivel de servicio. Quiero reconocer especialmente a Génesis, Fabiola y Dayana, quienes siempre estuvieron atentas a cada detalle, pero sobre todo a Kevin, mi concierge, que hizo que toda la experiencia fuera simplemente impecable. De verdad, pocas veces he visto un servicio tan cuidado, tan genuino y tan consistente en cada interacción. La atención es excelente, espectacular de principio a fin. Se nota cuando un equipo está bien coordinado y realmente enfocado en hacerte sentir bien. Además, el café es delicioso —y un gran plus que estuvo disponible durante toda la estancia. Es de esos pequeños detalles que elevan muchísimo la experiencia. Los cuartos están muy bien, cómodos y bien cuidados, y la propiedad en general es realmente bonita, se siente tranquila y bien pensada. La comida también fue un highlight: todo estuvo delicioso. El pork de la cena es una verdadera delicia, imperdible, y los desayunos son muy ricos, perfectos para empezar el día. Pero si tuviera que resumir lo mejor de todo, definitivamente sería el servicio. Es lo que realmente hace que quieras regresar. Una experiencia altamente recomendable.

The hotel was very nice and relaxing. What really set it apart was the hospitality. The staff is so accommodating and welcoming. Genesis and Kevin in particular really went above and beyond. Kevin recommended some great areas to check out locally and Genesis did as well. Make sure to ask Genesis to make you her signature drink. It is the yummiest Jamaica drink I’ve ever had!

The staff was amazing, personal touch, special mention to yohan, Kevin, yeraldin at the front desk, who were very punctual arranged our transport and tours The staff in the kitchen went out out of their way in their hospitality, the chief chef, David made dishes for us outside the menu. The menu is limited. Fabiola was an excellent server and also took pictures all around the resort. The spa is not fancy but the messeurs were skilled. They could do better with that section. Met the owner during our visit who was very receptive to our input. This resort is very quiet , serene . Close to the waterfall and 20 minutes from the other main attractions.

This has been the best hotel my partner and I have ever stayed at. We truly can’t wait to go back. Everyone was so welcoming, and they slowly became our friends. We have never stayed at a hotel where we actually got to meet the staff on a personal level like we did here. Shout out to Kevin A., Genesis, Fabi, Yeraldin and everyone else whose names I sadly don’t remember right now. You guys made this the most memorable trip ever!The hotel was very private, which we really enjoyed. I loved waking up and having breakfast with a jungle view and, at times, having the whole pool and swim-up bar to ourselves.Chef Deuel is the absolute BEST. You can tell he is passionate about cooking, and he would satisfy our cravings even when they weren’t on the menu! I will definitely have to go back to enjoy your pupusas and crème brûlée again.We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Felix. He is such a great person and was very attentive to guests. He even hosted a BBQ where we got to mingle with other guests. Overall, compared to all the other hotels, this one is the best in La Fortuna, and we’ll be coming back with friends and family! You will also see plenty of different animals we even got to see a sloth.
