Modern bungalows are within walking distance of the beach. If you have a car, it's ideal to move around to Samara as well for dinner. Otherwise, it's a bit off, but with a peaceful and relatively lonely beach. The Ambu rooms are extremely spacious and modern, but lacking some character. The service is quite friendly, extras and gastro are a bit expensive. Both spa treatments I wanted to do were still on the menu but not available.

Our stay at Ambu was wonderful. The hotel is modern and well thought out. A short walk away, it overlooks the lovely Playa Castelloto. Even the sunsets were spectacular, but the staff was even more incredible. Everyone we encountered there was incredibly friendly, professional, and devoted to our every need. The food was also excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and want to thank the staff for making our visit so unforgettable.

Very satisfactory. Our room has a great view of Carlo Beach, and the shoreline at that distance is filthy. The space is enormous, and the structure is subpar. There are holes in the balcony slide and window frames, furniture is cheaply made, and there is only one restaurant and nowhere else to eat in the area. They told me we could only have 2 coffee pods per day, so I asked for more for the coffee maker. It's really that simple. A little gate that even I could climb is protected from the road to the hotel. Stay in Samara.

We arrived at Ambu after a long bus journey from San Jose, and wow, the location is right on the beach, with beautiful views of Playa Castillo beach. Check-in was easy with a welcome drink. The rooms are very simple and very spacious. When we opened the door they surprised us with a happy anniversary cake, which got us from the beginning. Both the dining area and pool area are very nice and we were very impressed.
