I’m not sure why there are bad reviews for this property. Especially since the price is budget friendly. The neighborhood is quiet with views of the mountains/hills. You have to have a key fob to get onto the property as the grounds are gated. The hostel is clean, and the staff is friendly. This was my fourth time in Marseille, and my first time in the 12th Arrondissement. I highly recommend this place. Thanks for hosting Bum Bum Jones and I!

You are truly at ease if youve ever considered staying in a filthy house in the midst of nowhere with some spooky elements. In general, the rooms seemed fine, however, the windows towards the corridor, which brighten the entire space as daylight when someone walks in the corridor, adds a bitter twist to the already quite tiny rooms. Showers are a separate matter. I'm not sure how you feel, but I generally prefer taking a shower alone without any animalistic observers including cockroaches and other smaller animals. Because otherwise, athletes feet are the outcome. Breakfast was a complete surprise, with a good variety of cereals and bread, a limited amount of yogurt first come first service, various flavors of jam, and decent coffee or tea. The worst part was, however, the conditions because not only did the hostel owner lock us out of the entire hostel premises in a shabby neighborhood, he saw us in the camera, was too busy to push the gates, and the other staff members were either drunk or even drugged in the evening. I dont know how you feel, but this is a complete emblem. That is how you treat your customers! If you want to go downtown, good luck finding the metro station it was difficult to locate the closest station. Good luck if you need WiFi to locate the metro station. Although the hostel promotes having free wifi

I visited the chateau before I arrived and read more than 5 years' reviews. Even before nicolas, the older ones had horrible remarks to make. The chateau has seen better days. Otherwise, it isn't a youth hostel! Some of the original elements, such as tiles, wrought iron, and large windows, have been preserved from a different era. I am pleased to report that the light, bright, central bathroom has many bathrooms and showers and is clearly modern. Even though the actual reception hours are largely limited, your key fob has a unique design that allows you to open the large metal gates and the spectacular front doors at any time, day or night. However, this shouldn't be an issue as long as you have access when you need it. Get there in a better way unless you learn the way. Google earth and then street view can give you a visual idea of the boulevard bois lazy residential district. If you take a taxi, you will discover the actual address, which is number 58 alley des primeveres. You will also have to complete your one-way residential streets from this little roundabout. I want to also thank everyone before me who is English but has lived in provence for over 20 years. The vineyards will all be harvested within about one week this year because I was here 1317 and the harvest had begun and Valens

I will certainly not repeat this experience! I stayed two nights at this hostel lost somewhere on the outskirts of Marseille. We were in a big group and asked where to eat dinner, we were told that it was possible to order food at a pizzeria. The personnel were quite hesitant to provide information about transportation and marseilles. Also, the welcome was quite odd as we were told that occasionally an alarm turns on and it is real so that we should have left our bedrooms in case we heard it on. Rooms were cleaned, but bathrooms werent, and cutlery was also dirty, as guests were supposed to clean their own after dinner or lunch. The breakfast provided was ok for the price paid. Final, when booking the hostel, our trip organizer was told that the location was easy to find and reach by bus, which was far from the truth!

I decided to stay at this place for 3 nights in a row. The last evaluation I have is in 2015. It's surprising that it was in 2015 and I decided to leave it. Nicolas and his team were extremely helpful and welcoming, and one of the students who were there when I arrived even helped carry my suitcase, which was definitely heavy. The area around the chateau was breathtaking. Breakfast is served outside and the view is incredible, especially at night! Yes, it's a long walk from the metro, but it's a workout and a chance to appreciate the beauty of marseilles au naturel!
