In early July, I self-catered at Le Loft. A large, tidy, and pleasant space with all amenities, including air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a small gym, and a garden-sized swimming pool. There are three double bedrooms that are furnished for six adults. The steps between the rooms may not be ideal for smaller children or the elderly. Due to Rustiques' small community, you should have a vehicle to get around and to the shops. It's a 20-minute drive from carcassone, a charming town with a historic, medieval walled city, lovely streets, and a newer shopping district. I heartily suggest.

The only surviving section was the loft, which was impressive. The terrace in the dining room offers a wonderful view of the village and castle. The shower here is enormous. The room was so lovely, it has a small balcony and was tastefully furnished. The hostess was so friendly and made sure to provide us with anything we needed. The shower is also big and well-appointed. Breakfast is also delicious, which includes homemade bread, jams, yogurt, and fruit.
