Overall, it's a place I would book again for a quick visit on the cheap but not during a heat wave. The best thing about this hotel is the central position near nearly every tourist hotspot in the lovely city of Lyon. It is almost next to the metro station cordeliers, and you are never far from the main metro stations with all the proper connections. Another great thing is that there are really good local restaurants in the same neighborhood, right across the street. Same with convenience stores and boutiques. To my knowledge, it is also the only hotel where you can book a room for three people not every traveller is a businessman or a couple. Now the negative. The staircase is narrow and the steps around the floor are so short that you have to tiptoe your way up and down. It is a left-handed spiral staircase, so if you have disabilities on the left side, climbing is less safe. If you have to book here despite the staircase, try your best to book a room on the lower floor. The neighborhood can be noisy on the weekends because there are several nightclubs nearby. There is no air conditioning. So booking in the hottest part of summer might not be the best idea. The bathroom can feel cramped. Oversized individuals will undoubtedly have a bad time there. Otherwise it is clean.

The location of this place is very strategic because it is close to the city and easy to reach by foot. The rooms were very tidy. The walls were very thin because you could hear all of the people in the corridor. This hotel looks more like a motel than a small, basic hotel. The room and bathroom were both tidy, but the last one was very small, it was a big deal to use the shower and then dry off.
