Occidental Caribbean Village Playa Dorada

This attractive hotel is situated on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic on the wonderful Playa Dorada (Golden Beach), surrounded by splendid gardens and tropical palms. Situated directly next to a golf course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones, the hotel is located about 700 m from the beach and approximately 20 minutes from the airport. The complex is just across the Playa Dorada Boulevard from the beach. This hotel comprises a 2-storey building with a total of 336 double rooms. Various facilities include a foyer with a reception desk, shops, a hairdresser's salon and beauty centre, a bar, a nightclub and 2 air-conditioned à la carte restaurants (Italian, Brazilian and a buffet restaurant). Room and laundry services (fees apply), a beach club as well as a car and moped hire service round off the facilities on offer. Cars can be parked either in the hotel's private car park or garage. Younger guests (4 to 12 years olds) may participate in the kids' club activities. The welcoming rooms come with a bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a minibar/ fridge, air conditioning, a hire safe and a balcony or a terrace. Fans are also fitted in the rooms as standard. There is a swimming pool available for use in the outdoor complex with sun loungers, parasols and poolside snack bar. Leisure options include water aerobics, a sauna, a massage service, banana boating, water polo, a taster diving course that is held in the pool or diving that is offered by local operators on the beach. Furthermore, windsurfing, 6 tennis courts with floodlights (for an additional fee), a gym and billiards/ snooker facilities are also available. There is also an entertainment programme to provide some variation for guests. A deposit is required for water sports activities. All meals are offered from a buffet service. Evening meals may also be selected from the à la carte option.
