Our stay was wonderful! The hotel staff is very friendly and everything was super clean. The whole hotel, beginning from the garden, over to the house and the pier had lovely details wherever you look. No matter if its plants or flowers, deco elemants or art. At the pier where sharks, rays and lots of colurful fishes. The two hotel cats where also very friendly! The breakfast had to be booked on top, which we didnt do. There was enough kitchen equipment for a light breakfast in the rooms. We totally recommend staying there!

This tastefully decorated oasis surpassed our expectations! From the initial garden walk into the property, we were in awe. We can't say enough about the lovely proprietor and all her staff. The bungalow on the water was magical. The flowers, the fish and the amazing sunset all lwft us with a ladting impresdion of this beautiful island!

The location was spectacular. Lovely welcome drinks and leis, and Eileen was very accommodating. We had great massages and it was the perfect spot to take off for snorkeling trips. We would definitely come back!

We stayed at hotel Fenua for 3 nights in the romance suite during our 18 night honeymoon. Of the 7 lodgings we stayed at - this was by far the most unique place. Staff was very friendly & assisted with delivering early morning breakfast that we ordered the night prior. It has direct access to the water (but it is not very clear compared to some other parts of the lagoons). We were able to rent a kayak while here and also had one of our best spa sessions while on our trip. Fenua is one of a kind as it only offers 5 very unique and homey rooms. We spent a decent amount of time in the lounge area which felt like something out of a book. The common area & rooms have an abundance of plants that are well maintained and give the ambience of staying in a coastal jungle. The AC worked surprisingly well despite other reviews we had seen. The breakfast we ordered was incredible - especially the homemade jams included with the pastry boards. There are only a couple of potential downsides depending on your preferences. 1.) There will be geckos in your room - they are small and harmless, but you’ll want to keep your bags zipped. 2.) Sometimes you’ll hear easily through the walls (staff working outside on maintenance / birds nestling on the roof) etc. 3.) As mentioned before there is only 5 rooms offered here, so you will not run into many guests. We viewed this as an overall positive since we had privacy & a unique experience while also having the benefits of an active staff on site

If you love a tropical feel this is the place for you. There are plants EVERYWHERE! We loved it! There are so many places to sit and relax and they are all so interesting. This hotel is filled with charm! Every time I went into one of the public spaces I would see something I hadn't seen before. This is way better than an over the water bungalow! You walk only steps to the water and can jump into a beautiful Lagoon. The owner is a lovely French woman who will take care of your every need and want! If she recommends something, do it! She knows the different vendors and restaurants and she is always right on! If you are looking for a slightly different, very personal place in Moorea this is it. We were here for 6 days and they were all fabulous. The staff is wonderful and will not have to lift a finger. Your bags will be taken to your room from your car or taxi and then back again at the end of your stay. Tours will be booked for you, taxies will be called, and you just need to enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The rooms were cleaned to perfection and the oils, lotions and soaps provided were absolutely wonderful! We had the most memorable time at the Fenua Mata'i'oa!

It ia paradise within paradise! Walking through all the beautiful plants to get to your room is like walking through a beautiful botanical garden. The only thing that is better is the view from the deck! There are so many fish around the deck and at night the sharks come around. And you can walk out into water. The bed was really comfortable. The shower had good pressure. It was really nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and real plates and glasses. Everyone was very helpful and always smiled. The grounds are perfectly kept and everything was clean. The whole place is exactly like the pictures. If you are going to Mo'orea, this is where you want to stay.

We booked last minute and were lucky enough to get the overwater room with private deck. Completely blown away at how gorgeous this place was. Really kicking myself for not finding it sooner - would have spent all of our 4 days in Moorea here! The pictures on the website really don’t do it justice. It is truly an immersive experience. Don’t waste your money on the pricey overwater bungalow resorts - we actually left one of those overpriced resorts after one night to come here - and loved this place a thousand times more!

The rooms were immaculate and the staff were wonderful, the views of the water and mountains as well as the accessibility to the water were bonuses, this is my first time in a hotel outside of the United States and it really set a hugh bar and this will be my recommendation

We loved staying here! The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of original art and plants. We had a generously sized outdoor area, and a nice roomy shower. The shared spaces are comfortable and plentiful in case you want to socialize with other guests. I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a unique experience. The gardens are amazing.

What is unique about this hotel? It is not a party hotel. It is maybe one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels I have ever stayed at. I am 70 and travel a lot and spend time in beautiful hotels in beautiful areas. The Fenua Mata'i'oa hotel tops my list. We stayed in the Garden Romantic Suite. A large place. There was a nice outside shaded place to have breakfast with kitchen exposed to the ambient environment, complete with a cat if you allowed it. The bedroom was large and very comfortable and air conditioned. I slept 8-9 hrs a night. The bathroom and tub were in a Shangr-La environment. We had our own beach area with several outdoor outdoor areas to sit and enjoy nature. Our room and every inch of the entire communal area have been immaculately and pain-stakenly decorated over 25 years. Everywhere you look you can't help but to be transfixed with the thoughtful cohesive beauty bestowed by the owner-designer. You may think I am getting carried away and over romanticizing the property but my girl friend felt exactly the same way. I was so nice to have a private dock where you can be picked up for an excursion or just to snorkel on your own or just have a drink and watch the spectacular sunsets. If you want a romantic place for inspiration, I can't think of a better place. Also, everything worked in our room and we only wished we had stayed a week instead of a few days.

The property is stunning. The foliage and decor is unlike any place I’ve ever stayed. Each room is meticulously decorated with a private entrance. Very quiet and relaxing. Kayaks available to take advantage of calm waters with stingrays and eagle rays. Location was wonderful as you can kayak to coco beach which is must do. Our welcome drink was serious and beautiful. Wish we could’ve stayed longer

It’s very unique jungle book could have been written here me and the wife had a air b and b and it was terrible so we left it to here for 1 night and one night only arrived at 3 pm and left the next day at 9 am to the Hilton. It was a great spot for 1 night ! The rooms are a bit older and assuming since it’s in the jungle feeling in the trees along the ocean it’s very humid it had a bit of a musty smell but was still perfect for the night breakfast was for 2 meals in the am and 1 letre of coffee trout to took in am was around 5200 xpf food for breakfast was not bad at all Beacon eggs etc The steak place is just up the road you can go eat was great !! The best part of this place is 100% ocean morning view and or ocean view in general almost right across from the picnic island of Moorea , and not far down from coco beach, you can rent a kayaks or paddle boards and head down to both islands from here The water was very clean you can see everything too to bottom in the area tons of fish we had a good time for the night it’s a great place to transfer Nice people clean room for the most part but a bit musty we had the lowest end room they had for the night left. Princess somthing Sorry for the bad pictures

We stayed at the Princess Lokelani room. It was steps from the water. We saw a manta ray there and lots of fish. (Note that there is no actual beach as the whole island is enclosed by a coral reef). The hotel is very unique and has a stellar breakfast that they bring to your room. We loved the common area, it's very distinctive and comfortable. We borrowed canoes and found the manta and shark area ~10 mins away. There are boats and tours that travel from all over the island just to go there. The hotel is close to solid restaurants and has parking. Main drawback is mosquitos given the room is surround by greenery - come prepared.
