Café Frank is a lovely small style accommodation located on a hill overlooking the small town of rimbach. This is not the place to look for in a fancy hotel. But the cafe frank works very well for a true Bavarian experience. Our room was small but comfortable and tidy, and there was a big patio open to the room. We had a comfortable bed and beautiful duvets. Breakfast was great with juice, meat, cheeses, breads, fruit, softboiled eggs, coffee or tea. Francesca and Victor live on-site with their family, and there is also a wood carving business on the property. While we were there, they were working on redoing the patio, and once finished, it will be a lovely place to sit and enjoy the area. Walking into downtown rimbach is easy and pleasant. Our bed was very comfortable! My only criticism is that they could offer some much nicer, softer towels for the room.

Saubere Unterkunft. Leider war das cade geschlossen A er wir hatten eine gute Unterhaltung mit der wirtin. Es war früher mal ein schönes eiskaffee. Jetzt dient es nur noch zur übernachtung auch das frühstück war i ordnung

I made the reservation in the afternoon of the date I wanted to stay. Some time after making the reservation I called to ask how to check-in given that it said there is no front desk and I didn't receive any instructions. I was told in German they are fully booked, despite having a confirmed reservation (and the hotels.com website having several rooms there). I asked how can it be and was told that if I want to speak with someone in English I should call again in 0.5-1 hours. I called more than once again and there was no response. I had to make a last-minute late booking elsewhere, spend time on these phone calls, and then spend time to get a refund for the room I didn't get. If I didn't call but instead drove there assuming a confirmed reservation suffices, I guess I would find no one, no room, and be in a late hour where available rooms elsewhere, if exist at all (many places close their check-in early), and require a long drive on narrow roads in the darkness and pay much more.
