I stumbled upon this amazing location a few years back while riding bicycles through Uberlingen. It is best described as a German pub, located in a railroad station built in the 18th century that is carved into the side of the hill. The bar itself is a cozy, inviting, and retro take on an era where everyone seems to know each other, particularly the owners, hardy and Maria, who welcomed us back like old friends two years after our last trip from New York to Uberlingen. With the assistance of Maria's father, Hardy and Mariaon completely rebuilt the abandoned station many years ago, turning it into a bar, restaurant, and be unlike no other. Some of the dining areas are essentially caves. Tables are set in the front porch with views of the lake and the rising sun, with trains often passing a few yards away. It could not be more beautiful. Visiting Zurmba Hardy Wetshaus Zumba should be one of the stops on your trip to Uberlingen!.
