We were very pleased with this hotel. Very well-equipped hotel with a pool, sauna, and jacuzzi, and the restaurant has a buffet breakfast and a four-course dinner that caters for all tastes every night. The staff was very helpful and friendly and attended to all our needs. The bedrooms have quite comfortable beds, plenty of storage, a to that only has one english channel can and no tea and coffee making equipment. There is an on-site bathroom with a shower. The housekeeping staff maintains the place immaculate.

My family and I traveled to Steinback in early August for a 10-day holiday booked through Tui. Upon arrival we were met by steph the receptionist and checked into our room immediately. During check-in we also completed the chiemgau card application, which was received the following morning. Chiemgau card is free and absolutely fantastic value. It allows free travel on the local transport network as well as free entry to museums, the local public pool, and the local chair cable cars to name a few benefits. hotel The hotel has a real Bavarian feel and charm and is just a short distance from the main town. A small pool, jacuzzi, and wellness center are all on the basement floor. If you want to venture further, the hotel also offers courtesy bicycles. This is highly recommended because there are many bike only trails to explore. My only slight complaint was that the subtle lighting could have made for a brighter illumination if needed. There were two closets with hanging space and shelving plus a table with draw units for additional storage. There was also a to, small fridge, and a free safe, but no kettle. We were on a half board, which was excellent. Breakfast options were plentiful and of high quality, but if you are expecting a British fry up, you must go elsewhere. During our halfboard visit, we remained here for a week. We had no issues at all because we weren't always sure what we were getting when we ordered the food, but it was abundant and of good quality. Despite our limited knowledge of German, the staff was really accommodating, and we communicated well. We reserved 2 rooms for the four of us, each with a balcony. A few elements of the rooms' furnishings, especially the hotel's interior decoration, were a little worn out, and the bathroom had flaws or a hole in the hotel carpet on the stairs, otherwise I would have awarded this 5 stars. While there is some morning traffic noise, our rooms were in front of the hotel, a relatively calm neighborhood, so it wasn't unfavorable. If you like absolute peace and quiet, I'd request a room at the back of the hotel. The reception personnel quickly recognized my lengthy description of a malfunctioning smoke alarm and within ten seconds spotted a replacement battery, followed me upstairs, and immediately replaced it. The entire situation was resolved in 5 minutes. Despite the fact that the free hotel bicycles weren't something we had intended to use prior to our visit, we had a great day riding one of the many nearby trails, so you won't be disappointed. I find the hotel warm and just what I needed after a day on the slopes as I could go to the jacuzzi or sauna. There also a pool. Good breakfast buffet with hot and cold food and a salad buffet with dinner. Very close to bus to the ski lift as it stops right outside the building next door.

This is a lovely traditional hotel. The cuisine is not typical of traditional cuisine but is delicious and plentiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next door is a ski slope for beginners and a bus stop for a ski area, but the bus will take you to the ski slopes in 25 minutes. This is a well deserved 4 hotel, but they have Alex the very nice lady at the restaurant who cared for us during our stay. Thank you Alex and good job Steinbach!
