I am giving Base Luxury Lodge in Ghana five stars. The room was fantastic. I always stay in the same room, number 107. It’s absolutely wonderful. The staff are kind, welcoming, open, and caring. They are warm and heartfelt people who truly take good care of their guests. They do everything possible if there is anything that needs to be solved. I especially want to mention their lovely swimming pool. It’s amazing to relax in, especially in the evening when you can lie back and look up at the sky. It’s such a peaceful experience. They have also done something incredibly great – they upgraded to very strong and reliable internet. You never lose connection anymore. I’ve experienced problems before, but not now. They have completely improved it, so you can feel safe knowing you will always have stable internet access. I have been staying at this place since 2017, always in the same room, so I truly know what I’m talking about. I am 100% happy every time I stay there. The food is amazing. Everything tastes wonderful. Breakfast is excellent – omelets, salads, buffets, and many different options. It’s fantastic. The chef, Winifred, is an open, warm, and kind person and is always attentive, just like the rest of the staff at the hotel. There is absolutely nothing to complain about anywhere. I gladly give five stars because I truly mean it and stand by every word. So to anyone who has the opportunity and desire to book a stay at Base Luxury Lodge in Ghana – you should definitely

Great hotel and great price! The employees were very accommodating and assisted our needs. Breakfast daily was great, some may not approve but the general breakfast here in Ghana is eggs and toast sometimes chicken sausage. The room was nice although not much to watch on tv. The only issue I had was the in and out WiFi. Even during the rolling black outs the hotel had a generator that would power the whole hotel! I would recommend this place whether or not you’re on a budget! Oh did I forget to mention it’s across from a strip mall?!

I booked the facility to swim at night but I was informed on arrival that the pool was not clean, defeating my whole purpose of night swimming. Additionally breakfast was served after 10am contrary to what was communicated.

This was my second time staying at this property. I booked my stay about 17 days prior to my arrival. After travelling over 5,000 miles I arrived at the hotel. I was standing in the lobby with my bags ready to check in, and was told they had basically given my reserved room to someone else and there was nowhere for me to stay. They ended up sending me to a lesser hotel that was much further away and told me they would have a room ready for me in 5 days. They promised to put me in the presidential suite, due to the inconvenience. After the 5 days had passed I called over to see if the room was ready for me to check in, and was told they were still waiting for people to check out, this was after 12:00 pm. Not wanting to sit around and wait all day and waste my vacation time, I went out for the day. When I returned that evening, they finally said they had a room ready and came and got me. The room was definitely not the presidential suite, so that was a lie. I also expressed to them that due to the location of the room on the property, I was unable to obtain a steady WiFi signal. The response I received was to "just be cool", and the issue was basically ignored. Overall, I was pretty disgusted with the piss poor logistics of the room booking. There is no excuse as to why my room was basically given away to someone else, and then to basically be sent to a lesser hotel up until my last day in the country was not cool and very unprofessional, I was also denied a refund.

It started at check-in. This was our second stay here and it appears things have gotten worse since our first stay. One thing tnat didn't change was the scam this hotel tries to run on foreign guests. The disrespectful receptionist told us they don't work with hotels.com and had no reservation for us. After an hour and a long conversation with the E-commerce manager (whom I am convinced is the head of this shoddy scam) they miraculously found our reservation. The first room they tried to put us in had a smell of something dead so we requested to move. The second room was not much better but at least no stench. The towels were discolored, the room full of mosquitoes and the water only came upon our request. I was in the middle of a shower with soap in my eyes and the water went off. I had to step out, dry off and call the front desk. Upon my complaint, the receptionist informed me that we have to request the water to be turned on when we want to bath. She said she would turn it in. I waited 20 minutes, still no water. I called the front desk back and the line was busy for some time. It was around noon. I dressed up and walked outside to the receptionist to find no one there and the phone was off the hook. By this time I was livid. I asked to speak to the manager and it was immediately obvious that even the managers of this property do not care. She was rude and abruptly told me "check out is 11am". As if to tell me to leave. This place is a real disgrace to Ghana.
