Very cosy and quiet spot. The hot pools are very nice to relax, there’s a wonderful and easy round hike (8km) starting from the property over the canyon / waterfalls. You can get dinner and breakfast there if needed. Northern lights can also be observed from there.

Loved the hot springs on site right next to the place. Staff was very friendly. Didn't like the strict check-in times because we were running late we almost couldn't check in but it all worked out and we should have planned better. Nice breakfast in the morning and everyone working were very friendly. Thanks for that.

Hosts were very nice and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. There was a beautiful hike to three large waterfalls right in their backyard and the two hot pools were perfect for relaxing after the excursion.

Un hôtel/refuge perdu en pleine nature, tout neuf. Chambre petite un peu mansardée, sanitaires communs. Superbe piscine d'eau chaude naturelle, magnifique environnement. Très belle randonnée "le chemin des cascades" à faire dans les environs. Accueil très sympathique, dîner correct, on n'a pas testé le petit-déjeuner car on est parti tôt pour aller au volcan d'Askja. On y serait volontiers resté plus longtemps.

Excellent stay if you are an outdoor person. Very remote location, good for hiking and outdoor exploration. Hotel is new and very clean. Remember that you have to tell the host if you want to have dinner, they make food only on request. Breakfast is very good, and as always in Iceland coffee is great.

I will stay at this hotel again the next time I visit this area. My nephew and I stayed at the hotel, ate in the restaurant, and visited the hot springs. The young Polish women who were the hosts were very friendly and we had a wonderful conversation after dinner with them. When we left in the morning, I accidentally backed over the edge of the road shortly after leaving the hotel in a heavy fog. Even with kwd, we couldn't budge. Fortunately, we were only 1 kilometer from the hotel, so we went back and reported our problem to Olga. Luckily, we were only a kilometer from the hotel, so we walked back and explained our problem to Olga. She called the proprietor in Ellsstair, and I explained the situation. All we needed was a tow for about 5 seconds. He told Olga where the tow rope was stored. She took us to our vehicle at the KWD hotel. She didn't want to do the towing, so after I attached the rope to both vehicles and instructed my nephew what to do, I climbed into our vehicle and he gunned the motor on the other. We were free in 3 seconds!

The stay was really pleasant. The hot pools were very nice and had a stunning view. And at 8 am his hike was very enjoyable with lots of waterfalls and beautiful nature. The meal was good, but not a five-star restaurant here as expected. Staff is also very nice.

When we were in iceland, we had the worst snowstorm in nearly 40 years. The snow painted a lovely image, but this texas resident was not prepared to get stuck in it. We made the decision to spend the night at this lovely place. The private room was comfortable, quiet, and spotless. The entire establishment appeared to be wellkept and wellkept. The owner and host were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Due to the snow, we were unable to explore the property. This place is scheduled for a return trip, as there are 5 waterfalls a short walk away, a hot pot, wonderful accommodations, and excellent hosts. Its a win in every way.

We were told about these hot springs by a lady working at a tourist office in the south of iceland and are very glad we drove to them. They were right next to a hostel but for 1500 icelandic kronor about 9.50 you can use the changing facilities, showers and two hot springs. One spring is smaller and very hot we only stayed for a few minutes as it is also quite slippery. The other is a good size that could fit quite a lot of people and is the perfect temperature to sit at for ages. We were there for about an hour and enjoyed talking to many other people about their trips and getting some ideas for ours. Thank you to the young Dutch, I think, couple in the camper van who encouraged us to do the route later in our trip and visit Kerlingarfjoll and Hvervellir on the way. That was a great route and will be reviewed separately. The hot springs or hot pots as icelanders call them, were beautifully located in open countryside with views of the surrounding mountains. Beats commercial spas and pools every day.

The road to the hotel took us a long time, but the service waited for us after all. Nice place to relax away from everything. Warm and comfortable rooms could use more sockets for modern tourists but the views made up for it. A large jacuzzi allows you to relax in warm water.

Excellent accueil plein d’attentions, les bains chauds au pied du bâtiment et dans ce décors splendide sont un plus, la waterfall circle depuis le refuge aussi. Côté restauration, un plat unique le soir, bon petit déjeuner. Ñombre de douches un peu juste pour 10 chambres, 2 dortoirs de 10 lits, les campeurs et ceux qui viennent pour les bains chauds, en même temps c’est au milieu de nulle part...
