Just Guest House is just what you need, if you need a clean and simple place to crash. Their sign also says that hourly rentals are possible, subject to availability. This is wonderful to remember if you have a long layover at the airport, and you want to freshen up. I stayed here two separate times, for a few nights each, in between business and personal trips. The owner is friendly and is sometimes present in the daytime. He is very helpful. The front desk woman is a LOVELY woman with a happy smile at all times. Both were willing to help me with some communication issues that I had, as I am a foreigner who does not speak Tamil. You can’t miss that the floors and rooms are immaculate here. I am not one who needs a fancy place to stay, but I do want a place to be clean and hygienic. Just Guest House is! I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels in Chennai where I’ve seen pests in the hotel. I didn’t see a single one here. The location is right on the corner of Joseph St. and Veeramamunivar St, where there is a colorful, ornate temple arch. You can walk out and find just about anything you need- bottled water, food, clothing, groceries, toiletries, coffee, tea, and beyond. It’s approximately a 15 minute, inexpensive ride to the airport, even with Chennai traffic. Despite being close to the airport, you don’t hear many airplanes passing by. During my 2 trips, I stayed in 2 different rooms. Both had all I needed. The rooms are quiet. The beds are comfortable.

I had around 12 hours to spend in Chennai with my family(6 of us) before my flight. I was on a budget for this stay, also wanted to stay close to the airport because Chennai traffic is very unpredictable from the way I remember it. I browsed hotels.com and found this guesthouse, read the reviews, was a bit skeptical while I booked it. I was under an impression that we'd show up at the place and it would look nothing like it was in the pictures and I was gonna get yelled at by my family but this place proved me wrong. This place is very clean. They had clean/fresh sheets on the bed. The restrooms were very clean. I was a bit worried about the water but no complaints there as well. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The person at the desk helped us find the place with clear directions and she was great with the check-in process as well. She helped us with in-room dining requests, even though they didn't have a kitchen or in-room dining service. She had someone sent to pick-up our food from a place nearby. I also want to mention that this place is in a congested neighbourhood. I really don't mind as this wasn't a romantic or solo getaway. But for others planning to book this place, heads-up on that. It's also a little bit tucked in from the main road but very easy to find. The check-out process was smooth. I found this place great for the money I paid and I also liked that it was very closer to the airport(~15minutes) I certainly recommend this place.

Great value for money. I was a bit skeptical given that other options in the airport neighborhood were 2x more expensive compared to this place. However, I had a great experience and the value for money was exceptional. I totally recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to pay the chain hotel prices but want to stay closer to airport.

I have used this guest house for an overnight transit. Since I was using UBER to go around chennai, it was not too expensive to go to hypermalls from the guest house. The service boys were great to move my luggages during check in/out. The accommodation was extremely good value. The guest house management's communications were excellent and friendly professional team. It took only 15 min to reach airport. I would strongly recommend this guest house for transit at Chennai. If you use UBER taxi (AC cars cheaper than auto-riksha) along with your stay, the entire trip would be very pleasant. I would consider to stay again in this guest house in future.

Compared to the other airport hotels, this guest house is miles cheaper but you still get air-con, a satellite TV, clean rooms and helpful staff. No restaurant though and dining out options nearby are limited. We ate a radisson blu (online booking for this guesthouse includes breakfast which they deliver to your room and is delicious dosas and chutneys).

Family run hotel with clean and comfortable rooms and very helpful, English speaking staff. Main downside was that the property is accessed via stairs, so not suitable for everyone but there were staff on hand to help you with all the luggage. There were not any tea/Coffee making facility in the room but staff were happy to make these on request. There are some shops and decent restaurant very close by. It can get a bit noisy in the mornings as very close to main road, but this did not bother too much as we were flying early in the morning. Overall, a happy stay.
