SRINIVASAN • Family Trip

Enjoyed our stay here. This was our first vacation post COVID. We made up for all that we missed because of COVID. Would recommend a good lake view room. Also take a stroll outside the resort along the river. Don't miss the speed boat ride, you will go through narrow river lanes and low bridges. There is a small jetty for speed boat and shikara within the property itself. Thanks for all the staff for making this memorable,

Visitors to the Herald Resort cannot miss the paloma backwater resort. Its a stunning scenery and extraordinary service, especially to Arun the resort manager who took care of my parents in an emergency. I appreciate him very much for his heartwarming services.

The condition of the hotel is comfortable and well-kept. The infrastructure is very well maintained. In the evening, the landscape is breathtaking. We just enjoyed it, and we want to come back with family and friends. We have no problems with the food nor the service provided. The service of the personnel was very good and responsible.

Paloma Backwater Resort should be considered as the best place to stay during an alleppey visit. The resort is surrounded by a backwater lake and the resort staff is very supportive, particularly my. Manish. Furthermore, the pool is clean and clean and can be used by those who do not know swimming. The rooms are spacious and clean. Must have breakfast facility. Overall a very nice and comfortable place to stay when visiting alleppey.

This is my third visit to Paloma Backwater Resort. It is a hidden gem situated in an alley. And I still came to this place. But I really do not recommend to go for a houseboat as this place has a balcony, as it makes you feel like you are on a houseboat deck. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The pool was very good for our children. In the meantime, good luck and have a safe trip.

Great, luxurious place to stay. Beautiful views (but wish they'd clean the rubbish out of the water!). They also offered us a free boat ride on the first night which was fantastic. We stayed off peak so there weren't many people there and it was very quiet. Staff were great and the room we stayed in had excellent views of the lake. I only wish they served alcohol as it would have been nice to have a drink by the pool. The food was also excellent, although many of the things on the menu weren't available (again this is probably as many people weren't staying there so that is understandable). The place did not have much of an atmosphere and was far from things (but great if all you wanted to do was relax).

Booked this hotel for two nights during a birthday trip with my mother. The hotel is on a hard-to-access road, not easy to get to town. The website indicates they have amenities that do not exist (a curio shop, full service restaurant). The restaurant was barebones and the food seemed as if it may have been sitting for some time. There was little to do and because of the location it was not easy to get into town to go explore. Nothing on the website indicated the property did not serve alcohol. As it was a birthday celebration, we were hoping for a bit of wine to celebrate the dinner. We were disappointed upon arrival and decided to cut our reservation short. The front desk manager seemed understanding and agreed it was ok for us to stay only one night (of a two-night reservation) and said we could be refunded the second night given we determined this within hours of arriving. We confirmed this again in the morning when leaving. Since then, the hotel has ignored Orbitz's requests to confirm this so blocked the refund. They are simply not responding to multiple emails. They misrepresent information about their property and do not tell the truth to guests. I cannot recommend a stay at this hotel.

We stayed at this HIGHLY OVERRATED hotel in 2 rooms between December 18-20th 2017. The Hotels offers lousy service, lousy housekeeping, a third class restaurant with a dirty torn menu. The airconditioner in our room was leaking profusely and we had to place towel and bathmats on the floor to absorb the water. Early in the morning we were workers started maintenance work on the roof of nearby cottages. There is little or no lighting in the restaurant at night and mosquitoes and insects crawl all over the food. The hotel offers only fixed food menus served as buffets through Breakfast Lunch and Dinner there is no a la carte available for these meals. The food quality is bad. Justin the Manager / Steward in charge of the restaurant is frankly useless. His alternate Anup is a good man and tries to make the best of a horrible situation. The waitressing staff are untrained, tables are left dirty for long periods after guests have finished their meals. A complete and total waste of money. This Hotel (??) should be closed down and I intend to complain about the agency which accorded it Four Star rating. Hotels.com are equally responsible in featuring this hotel on its website, and this is the last time ever that I will book a hotel through Hotels.com.
