About Ecolodge Bukit Lawang
Nestled in the banks of the Bohorok river and adjacent to Gunung Leuser National Park, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, among them the rare Sumatran orangutan, our close relative.
Located 80 km from the city of Medan, Ecolodge Bukit Lawang is one of the outlets of Bohorok Environmental Education Centre (PPLH Bohorok). Designated to become a model for sustainable lodge management, Ecolodge Bukit Lawang offers a unique accommodation facility and opportunity to enjoy the tropical rainforest, its orang-utans, a variety of over 700 hundred animal species, and an enormous wealth of plant species.
