In the dated building, the rooms are more expensive but so gloomy and depressing that I cannot think of staying there unless extremely desperate. Dark, unpleasant and smelly. The newest structure has much nicer rooms with excellent views of the city and comfortable mattresses. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Buffet included boring western food such as bread, margarine and jam as well as good Indonesian food like rice, vegetables, tofu, fish, or chicken, of course tea and coffee. The staff was helpful, but not kind. We were fortunate to have a room in the new building available. We were able to get a 10 discount the rooms are pricey because we were determined to spend at least five nights. After five nights, we went on a 5 night trek to the jungle, then returned to the hotel for two more nights. As we found at checkout, the discount didn't apply for the last two nights of our stay. Normally, there was no reasoning from the staff. However, overall, we made a decent decision. We looked at a few hotels in the area before choosing Billy Maya, and their best rooms were still worse than Billy Jay's basic rooms.

Harga hotelnya memang standar untuk ukuran papua barat tetapi fasilitas yang didapat tidak cukup memuaskan semua fasilitas seperti handuk, air minum, sandal, catat pesan di pertemuan room semuanya harus diminta, dekorasi kamarnya terlihat sudah tua dan viewnya juga kurang bagus tetapi lokasi hotel dekat kemana mana, di luas 100 meter dari hotel banyak penjual durian murah meriah. Untuk makanannya juga biasa saja tetapi untuk kita yang punya kantong tipis lumayan jadi rekomendasi lah.

The rooms in Billy Maya are two kinds. The old building's rooms are more expensive, but they are so depressing and terrible that I'm not planning to stay there unless very desperate. Dark, smelly, and without windows. The newer building has much nicer rooms with nice views of the town and comfy beds. Breakfast was excellent and generous. Buffet included uninspired western food bread, margarine, jam, but also very delicious Indonesian food rice, vegetables, tofu, fish or chicken, and of course tea and coffee. The staff was courteous but not very helpful. We were fortunate that a room in the new structure was accessible. We were able to receive a 10 discount because the rooms are pricey. After five nights, we went for an overnight trek through the jungle and then returned to the hotel for two more nights. As we discovered at checkout, the discount stopped to apply for the last two nights of our stay. As usual, the staff had no argument. Overall, however, we made a wise choice. Before choosing Billy Maya, we looked at some six hotels in the neighborhood, and their best rooms were still worse than Billy jay's basic rooms.

Hotel ini terletak di tengah kota Manokwari, terdapat sebuah kafe dan juga membuat kue khas manokwari, abon gulung. Kamar yang saya dapatkan biasa saja. Saat pertama kali masuk tidak ada handuk. Setelah diminta baru diantar. Saya mendapat kamar dengan tirai dan jendela, tetapi tidak ada pemandangan karena tertutup tembok. Pantai kamar mandinya terbuat dari keramik, tetapi sangat licin. Saya hampir jatuh. Jadi berhatihatilah. Dinding ternyata terbuat dari gypsum, suara tamu dari kamar sebelah sangat jelas.
