We added another night to our stay and we were upgraded to a suite at a reduced price. It was a great room with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. The staff was very friendly and we truly loved our stay here!

Me and my family stayed here for a week to go to my brother’s wedding up in Belagio. This place is beautiful and the view is also amazing from the dock. Luciano and his wife were very welcoming and accommodated all of our needs as much as they could. Breakfast options was also great. The locals are very friendly , I befriended two of the local business owners around the area as well. The room we stayed in was the biggest one in the top , we loved the sun roofs. Overall the room service was also great. I definitely recommend Don Abbondio.

Hotel Don Abbondio is 30 minutes walk from Lecco train station and the main tourist area of the town. It's in a quiet area with, mainly, local people. There is a large supermarket about 7 minutes walk away from the hotel. 3 minutes walk to the main road leads to a bus stop (2 Euros per person takes you to a bus stop at the back of the train station) and a takeaway food outlet. There's a restaurant next to the hotel. We didn't hire a car, so I can't comment about parking, but I think that parking isn't a problem near the hotel. The service from reception was excellent, the buffet breakfast was fine, and the room cleaning was good, every day :) Overall, at this price point, as long as you're happy to be away from the town center, this is a very good deal :)

The woman at the front deal is the most pleasant person we've met in a long time. She was wonderful. The room was great too, clean and comfortable. The balcony was large with a great view. Breakfast was delicious and everything went smoothly.

Atendimento mais que especial de Giusephina e seu esposo. Hotel cuidado pelo casal de forma impecável, construção antiga com conservação atualizada, moderna. Limpo, com lençois e toalhas brancas, acolhimento familiar, café da manha ótimo. Estabelecimento de frente para o lago, com praça e estacionamento ao lado.Atrasamos um pouco no checkin e nos ligaram, achamos o máximo da atenção! Voltaremos e indicamos!

Hôtel bien placé à l'écart de la circulation juste en face du lac. La chambre a été rénovée, tout est confortable avec une salle de bain moderne et une terrasse vue sur lac et montagne c'est magnifique ! Le petit déjeuner est copieux et bien présenté.

We had a lovely stay at Don Abbodino, we were a little apprehensive about staying in Lecco as it is not as popular as the other towns of Lake Como, however do not worry it has a perfect charm, stunning vistas, wonderful restaurants and atmosphere. Our room on the top floor was a great size with a huge modern bathroom, and incredibly light, the AC worked a treat. Breakfast was well served and a great selection of items to choose from. Great brioches and Coffee thank you Josephine! Luciano helped us hire bikes, and told us of his favourite restaurants to visit for traditional Italian food. We recommend hiring bikes and cycling around, swimming at the local lecco beach and enjoying aperol spritz where you can! We’re coming again soon I hope! For travellers concerned about COVID - 19 every floor has hand sanitiser and masks are worn by the staff at all times. Thank you Alex and Asia.

I had a very pleasant stay, will be back in the future! The hotel is at the right, southern end of Lake Como. It is a modest yet very comfortable place. Of course you can pay more than a thousand Euro to stay in a luxury hotel at upper lake. The hotel is owned and run by a lovely couple, who were very helpful in finding attractions, activities for you, starting days before check-in with emails. They offer very speedy WiFi and excellent free breakfast including served hot drinks. A nice restaurant is nearby, supermarket is in walking distance (15 min) I used train and ferry to travel to cities in upper lake. Walk to Lecco train station is about 20 min, taxi about 15 Euro, bus 1 is very convenient. Do be careful about the exact bus stop at the train station, it may not be at the front. Lecco is a vibrant city full of energy. Do visit the tourist center for detail planning, the staffs are extremely kind and helpful. This is my first trip to Italy. I am in love!
