Excellent location in a breathtaking and stunning mountain setting. Elegantly refurbished and converted old palazzo, individual rooms tastefully equipped with furniture and fixtures in accordance with the building's age. Our hosts could not have been more helpful or warm. Breakfast had a variety of italian options or essentially anything else we wanted. We chose full Italian with homemade sweet pastries and cakes and beautiful homemade preserves. A couple at another table chose bacon and eggs and appeared to be entirely satisfied with what they received. A truly unusual encounter.

Overall, it felt like we had a taste of the real torrent and a feel for how the locals really live. We spent six nights in torrent with the first three nights in a hotel in the city center. The last three nights were spent at Il Palazzo del Baron, which is up a hill from the center of town, about a 1015 minute drive. It worked out perfectly as we were able to relax a bit from the busy pace of staying in town first. The hosts, Fabio and Barbara, made us feel very welcome in their home. The villa and grounds were absolutely lovely. Our room had a balcony with a spectacular view of the bay of naples and Mount Vesuvius. We were even able to see fireworks that were launched on the dock at torrent one night. On the night of our arrival, we also attended a cooking class and learned how to make fried pizza, which was delicious and I had never heard of before. We even got to share the meal we made with other guests that were staying there. The great thing about staying here was the excellent hospitality of our hosts. Barbara was always available, friendly, and ready to help us find transportation to and from the city center, arranged a private tour of the Mali coast, and helped us with other logistical issues. What a fantastic place it would be in a beautiful village. The rooms have been meticulously renovated, preserving original features like an old pizza oven, fireplace, beams, and brickwork. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and fully furnished. Mariana was a wonderful host who gave us very helpful advice for our stay and village information. Mariana made us a huge and delicious breakfast with homemade pastries, bread, cakes, and many other goodies to make us feel very welcome and wellbehaved. Wed love to return to Pietrapertosa if ever!

I really recommend this. This be was a dazzling discovery. The newly renovated rooms in Pietrapertosa, the mountainous village on the mountain top, were large in size and stunningly beautiful and clean. In a hotel, the attention to detail of the construction work would not be out of place. Mariana, the hostess, was warm and very friendly, establishing a warm and homey atmosphere.

This place is highly recommended. We spent a night at the palace. The setting was fantastic. We stayed in one of the rooms and had an amazing view of the beautiful Dolomiti Mountain range. The staff was courteous and kind. Lots of fun activities in the vicinity, including flying crazy and holding from a metal rope over the hills from Pietrapertosa to Castelmezzano.
