We were visiting family that owns a unit in this resort. We were fortunate enough to be placed in the hotel section of this resort. The true Italian destination is village santa monica. We were the only Americans on site, but felt like we were a part of it. The property includes the gorgeous Ionian coast. The view will not let down. Water sports include kayaking, pedal boats, and sailing. There are 2 pools with lots of seating. The afternoon entertainment is held at the poolside bar. The Aquagym water exercises were fun both am and am. The latter is in the pool, the former in the water. The event is similar to club resorts but on a less demanding scale. If you want them, the activities are available, but nobody pushes you. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to please you. The supper at Village Santa Maria is casual but delicious. The cuisine is typical Calabrese buffet. This writer adheres to a gluten-free diet. The maitre was extremely considerate and requested that the chef prepare me specific supper. When we departed for home, he even prepared lunch for the family for our travel day. The rooms are clean, and the entertainment is enjoyable. Overall, this was a lovely and relaxing location to host our family reunion. We'll visit Santa Maria

After staying at the resort twice in August of 2016, I will not return this year! The location is easy to find, the setting is well thought out, the beach is 30 meters from the main building, and the village has a fantastic swimming pool for all ages. Several of the staff were amazing, courteous, helpful, and willing, but they were also embarrassed! Yes, embarrassed, almost everyone who came had a complaint about cleaning in a matter of minutes, things not working, etc., but despite promises to fix everything nothing was settled until you insisted. We booked full board, and in two weeks you would anticipate some variety of food, it seemed like it was almost the same menu for the entire time. My rating is acceptable, but it is mediocre. Waiting staff very hard, but the restaurant management is very poor, waiting time for deserts for example was endless. The animation was great, but as it changes every year, it is not a factor you can count on. The site should get a top agency, though, I'm not sure if investment is important. Let's look at the apartment's specifics. We had a seafront apartment, but we were shocked when we arrived. Despite raising the issue the management and not reception fumbled about escalating costs and the need to hire new or current owners to stand up, listen to their clients, and invest
