There is a lovely Masuka lodge at the bottom of the snow cap. Ruapehu, in the adjacent Tonganariro National Park, is the charming masuka lodge. As we ventured out for the looming volcanos and spectacular waterfalls, the primary sights of this stretch of New Zealand, the crisp, cool mountain air reawakened our spirits and invigorated us every day. In terms of lodging for our three-night stay in the delightful mountain town of hakuna, our hosts Alan and Susie were excellent. In every way, they are clearly dedicated to ensuring that their visitors have a wonderful time. They are a wonderful team, a lovely couple, and excellent team. They offered a home base from which we could explore the entire region which was unimaginably magical!.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful apart from the minutes walk from the station. I stayed in a ground floor room which was different since there were only two floors. The room was a large twin and there was also a good restaurant attached to the hotel.

We spent two nights at Susie and Alans Lodge, just beneath it. Ruapehu. This beautiful i, with nicely furnished rooms, each in its own style, is close to Hakuna's city center. Our hosts gave us a warm welcome and gave us lots of good and helpful tips for touring the region. Breakfast was excellent, and guests are welcome to utilize the spacious living room and terrace. Thanks for having such a great time on the southwestern corner of Tongariro National Park. Best wishes, Michael, Herd, and Nick.

The room is fast with free wifi. The shuttle service from Tasawako station to the hotel starts at 830. I. I. Theyll also drop you off at the lakeshore pier but youll have to find your way back to the hotel from there. A great onsenhotel. I had a large room with twin beds and chalkboard that included breakfast and dinner buffets. Great meals. Excellent helpful and friendly staff with enough English.

As I was traveling alone by motorcycle, the free parking was extremely useful. They have about 10 parking spaces directly behind the hotel, for your information. The rooms are actually quite large compared to what I normally get in Japan for this price range. The bathroom is also spacious and comfortable, even for taller people. I particularly loved the shower, which was at a good height and had strong pressure. The free wifi is not password protected, but the speed is just fine. The convenient location does mean that on one side of the hotel you will be exposed to the railroad tracks. However, I didn't experience any trouble, but I did check out very early. First restaurants and convenience stores are a 510 minute walk from the hotel. Going to the samurai district takes about 15 to 20 minutes on foot. However, if you do go out, you have to leave your large room key at the front desk. Also, it is necessary to tell the employees if you will be back after a certain time I believe it was 2300. The staff was very helpful and his English was good. They were happy to suggest a restaurant in town and helped me with my early checkout. When I requested tissues to clean my helmet visor, they even let me keep the entire pack, which I very much appreciated. Overall a great budget hotel, clean and spacious, conveniently located and helpful staff.

Overall, a wonderful little place to stay. We stayed here for two nights in February and saw the snow in the area get deeper as we traveled up in the Shinkansen from Tokyo. We were picked up by a hotel bus from the small railway station. The hotel itself was lovely and nothing extraordinary, but it was also very cozy. Our room was large and had a bed and tatami space. There were two starting points downstairs for men and women that alternated each day so we could try both. Breakfast and dinner were served buffet-style, with a lot of food choices. On each evening, we were treated to anita monster coming out of the kitchen and scaring the visitors while posing for photos, which all the visitors loved. We strolled to the nearby shrine in glorious sunshine and deep snow, which gave us some great photo opportunities.

This hotel was a fantastic Roman experience for us. We slept on the floor mats which I found to be extremely uncomfortable and have back ache. It wasnt sure if it was just me or the mat I was sleeping on, but we drew on the onset hot bath more than once in a real, fantastic Japanese experience. The food was fantastic for us, including breakfast and dinner. What made us difficult was the lack of a car. This is a rather remote area, so the most convenient means of transportation if you want to travel is to drive. We could resolve it using the hotel shuttle and taxi, but we were quite flexible because of this. Unfortunately, we tried to contact the hotel before arriving about how to get there sadly. They didn't reply, so we were unaware that there are free bus transfers I think three in the morning and three in the afternoon. So, we took a taxi, which cost roughly $1200. Also, we had rain and chilly weather, so there isn't much else to do other than go to the beginning. I bet it's a fantastic ski area in the winter, and if good weather, you can go hiking in the mountains or cycling around the lake. I hope this review helps. Overall, we had a great time and, despite some difficulties, we wouldn't have skipped the experience.

This place served us very well, and it was a wonderful Roman experience for us. We slept on the ground mats which made me uncomfortable and made my back hurt. We have tried hot baths before but are not sure if it's just me or the mat I'm sleeping on. Both breakfast and dinner were included. The absence of a car made it difficult. Because this is a little remote, traveling is the quickest method. We might have been able to use a car or a taxi to get around, but because of this, we found it difficult to be extremely reluctant. The pity was that we tried to contact the hotel about how to get there, which is, I believe, three in the morning and three in the afternoon. As a result, we took a taxi, which cost about $2025 dollars. We also had extremely heavy rain and cold weather, so there isn't much to do other than going out to the beginning. In the winter, I bet it's a fantastic ski area, and if it's good weather, you can go hiking in the mountains or cycle around the lake. I hope this review helps you in general, we had a great time and wouldn't have skipped the experience despite some inconveniences.

Overall, I hope this review serves you better. In spite of some difficulties, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would have enjoyed the experience. The Roman experience we had at this hotel was excellent. When I slept on the floor mats, I found it to be very uncomfortable and painful, and I had back aches I'm not sure if it's just me or the mat I was sleeping on. We had at least one other wonderful japan experience of taking the onset hot bath. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent for us. The absence of a vehicle was the issue. Because this is somewhat remote, it's best to travel by automobile. With the hotels' transportation and taxi, we were unable to deal with it because of this. We could resolve it with hotels transfers and a taxi, but such as this, we were quite inflexible. It was regrettable that we attempted to talk with the hotel before arriving about how to get there. They failed to respond, so we were unaware that there are free bus transportation, I believe 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. So, we used a taxi, which cost roughly 2025 dollars. Also, we had poor weather, rain, and freezing, leaving us with nothing other than returning to the onset. If good weather, you can go hiking in the mountains or biking around the lake, I bet it is a fantastic ski area in the winter.

Excellent onsen hotel. I had a large room with twin beds and chalkboards and breakfast and dinner buffets. Delicious meals. Excellent helpful, welcoming staff with good English speaking. The shuttle service to the hotel from tazawako station begins at 330 i. I. Theyll also drop you off at the lakeshore pier, but youll have to locate your way back to the hotel from there. A cab ride from the station to the hotel costs around 2700 yen. Shuttle service to the train station starts at 80 a. I. The hotel starts at 330 a. I. The room has fast, free wifi.

It's a pleasant stay that's located strategically near Lake Tamara and across from a beautiful statue. The hotel is a hot springs hotel and appears to be geared towards large groups or visitors who simply want to experience hot springs. The accommodations are adequate in size, though a little outdated. My bathroom smelled a little stale and didn't feel 100% clean. As is the case with Japan in general, very little if any English was spoken and what appeared to have been translation issues meant we ended up ordering sandwiches from a local supermarket about 1 mile away because there was no dinner available. Although supper was offered, it appeared to be a show put on for a coach group, and the restaurant employees made it extremely clear that we were not welcome. However, breakfast was tasty. The hotel's wifi has a lot of bandwidth. Although much of the surrounding area was still closed in the winter, there was plenty to see. A 5-minute walk will take you to see the statue across from the hotel. As we drove further north, we discovered that the 341 had been closed due to snow. This is worth checking if you are traveling from the north because the trip would take around 3 hours. If you visit from the north, this is worth a consideration. We would remain here again

We arrived in hakuna over labor weekend, so we made an impromptu trek there and had a wonderful conversation with a lovely homecooked breakfast, which I would describe as carefully prepared and delicious. We could make the most of our brief visit to hakuna, with wonderful bush walks in hakuna, a trek to the taranaki waterfall through tongariro forest and native grass, and the opportunity to go up Mount Ruapehu and watch the skiers in action on the final day of ski season. It was obvious that even the most tiny details were taken care of thanks to their suggestions and advice. The lodge room was very comfortable and tastefully furnished, and even the smallest details had been thought of. The bathroom was contemporary and neat. We returned with homemade honey, great memories, and two new friends in alan and susie! Were eager to go back, and wed strongly advise them to anyone planning their trip to Hakuna.

If we were in the area, I would stay here again. The hotel is stunning in the midst of Lake Tamara and across from a lovely statue. The motel is a hot springs hotel and appears to be geared toward large groups or travelers visiting just for the experience of hot springs. The rooms are a good size, if a little dated. My bathroom smelled a little and didn't feel 100% clean. As is typical of Japan as a whole, very little or no English was spoken, and what appeared to be a translation issue meant we ended up purchasing sandwiches at a local shop about 1 mile away because no dinner was available. Across from the hotel, a statue is a five-minute walk away. We drove to the hotel from the north and discovered that the 341 was closed because of snow. This meant that the trip took roughly three hours longer than we had allowed for, so this is worth checking if you are traveling from the north.

From tazawako station to the hotel, a shuttle service is available from the hotel beginning at 330 i. I. Youll also be dropped off at the lakeshore pier, but youll have to locate your way back to the hotel from there. Around 2700 yen is spent on a taxi ride from the station to the hotel. The hotel is in an amazing position, next to a stunning statue and the lake Tamara. It seems like the hotel is geared towards large groups or travelers looking to experience hot springs on their own. Even if a bit old, the rooms are a good size. My bathroom tasted a little odd and didn't feel 100-clean. As is typical of Japan as a whole, very little or no English was spoken and what seemed to be a translation issue meant that we ended up purchasing sandwiches from a local store about a mile away because there was no dinner available. Dinner was served, but it seemed like a show put on for a coach group, and the restaurant staff made it very clear that we weren't welcome. However, breakfast was delicious. The hotel has strong WiFi and a lot of bandwidth. While the majority of the surrounding area was still closed in the winter, there was plenty to see. A 5-minute walk takes you to visit the statue across from the hotel. We drove from farther north to the hotel, and we discovered that 341 was closed due to snow. If you're traveling from the north, this is worth checking if you're traveling from the north. If we were in the Are, I would stay here again.

The place is cute and almost roman looking, right by the train station. It is not a ryokanit, just looks like one. Its a bit of a walk into town, but it's not bad a nice way to stroll through a quieter, more quaint side of Japan.

In February, we spent two nights here, and as we drove up on the Shinkansen from Tokyo, we could feel the snow getting larger and bigger. We were picked up by the hotel bus from the small railway station, and the area was like a winter wonderland. The motel itself was lovely, nothing spectacular, but quite cozy. Our accommodation was roomy and equipped with a bed and tatami stand. There were two different start periods downstairs for men and women, so we could try both. The brunch and dinner buffets were excellent, with an impressive array of cuisine. On each evening, we were greeted by anita monster appearing in the kitchen and scared the visitors while also posing for pictures that the guests all loved. We walked to the nearby shrine in stunning sunshine and deep snow, providing some fantastic photo opportunities. All in all, a wonderful little place to stay.
