Our birding group stayed at the hotel green park for one night to be close to the redcrowned crane sanctuary. And indeed, we were close! The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards, but not all have a private shower and bath. We were given a handicapped double room, which was a treat, but other members of our group did not. Free wifi is available, but no one was able to make it work the night we were there and the reception staff were unable to help. I am not sure if this is a frequent problem or if we were just unfortunate. We also had a minor issue with the heating system, which by shutting off a switch near the headboard turns off the heat completely. Dinner was served in the hotel restaurant that evening and breakfast the next day. The food was very average and nothing special.

After a hectic day of photographing cranes and eagles, we decided to spend one night here, while soaking up the warmth and kindness. The hotel's feel is more westernized than in other locations, but it still had a few delightful, unusual Japanese traditional elements, and the reception staff was incredibly accommodating. The rooms were large, but there was just wifi in the lobby, a special thanks to the friendly lady at the restaurant who invited us silly westerners over for an evening meal and breakfast. Although perhaps more of a spa, the onsite experience was excellent. We had a great meal of a new flavor, including meat and seafood, because we stayed here on christmas Day. Additionally, the morning brunch, which included sashimi and a variety of fish and vegetables, was excellent.

This place is unusual because it is a simple establishment but also offers a nice photo gallery that is also placed just outside the hallway. Our group of 7 people enjoyed the fantastic cuisine. Overall, this hotel is the best, but there are no bathrooms available.

As part of a long journey to Japan for birdwatching, we stayed here for one night. We wanted to be close to the cranes, but we also needed some comfort after long field birdwatching trips and to warm up due to the very cold weather. We weren't too sure when it was our first, but we weren't worried because everything was prepared professionally and offered a wide variety of washing products. Traditional cuisine was served at a very high level. There were many visitors coming out to dinner in their robes, and we walked down in civilized fashion, so there was no embarrassment either way. The breakfast was delicious, with a nice assortment including a little oven to heat the rolls. After going out to go crane-watching in the field before breakfast, we noticed a few fellow birdwatchers join us for a later brunch. This could be a good choice as part of a longer break. The cranes were a very convenient location, and everyone was very hospitable and pleasant.

This green park is not as intriguing as the Shori Zoo. While more expensive, the park has the added benefits of nearby camping, hot springs, and fishing. The rides are tiny and not built for taller people. If you go to see the cranes in Suru, this is an easy sidebar but likely more expensive than the zoo, especially the Bangladesh lamb meal. It is kept in good shape, which is important to us.
