The hotel is not the most convenient to Hakuba town, but it is quite and there is a shuttle to two ski resorts (limited to three times a day, each way). The breakfast is a great way to start the day and the onsen is a nice place to relax after a day of skiing. The rooms are vintage charm, but the staff are so very friendly.

Fantastisk service! Verten kjørte oss til bussen ved avreise da vi hadde trøbbel med å få tak i ledig taxi. Veldig koselig område, samt praktisk med shuttle bus om man skal på ski.

I arrived in Japan for the single speed world championships in Hakububaiwatake. There was only one other group of people, but the hotel was still open for us. I stayed at the hotel for eight days and could not complain. It was fantastic! The first floor was a fantastic way to start the day! The guy who runs the place went out of his way multiple times to assist me and made my stay absolutely wonderful! I would not recommend this place more! I will return!.

The hotel was fine, some advice if you are advanced skiers and snowboarders it will take 3045 minutes to get to Hoppe and 47 respectively Do not expect any help from the guy at the desk get bus schedules to Hoppe and 47 in advance, hotel do not have them. From memory I believe they leave at 8. 14 and then 9. Am coffees cost extra onset is fine but not the cleanest in the world there are several restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance that are ok and very cheap overall decent enough hotel!.

The location of this place is very good. They sell cheap lift tickets and a village chairlift where skiers can travel to the summit of the mountain. The only drawback to this hotel is that it is close to the intake. The only drawback is that the lobby is a smoking area.

We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing. Towels and kimonos were replaced daily, which was a great touch, and beds were made every two days. The price was reasonable, and the shuttle to the ski resort was convenient. However, there was no shuttle into town, bus station or train station and taxi options were nonexistent, which made getting around a bit tricky. There were only a few restaurants within walking distance, so food options were limited. The front desk staff didn’t speak much English, but Google Translate made communication easy. Overall, a comfortable stay with great amenities, but be prepared for some transportation challenges if you want to explore beyond the ski resort.

We enjoyed our stay here and was pleasantly surprised with how accommodating our host was. We were nervous after reading some reviews complaining about how the host was unhelpful or the property was lacking but our accommodation had everything we needed and was nice and warm. The host explained the bus schedule to us when we arrived and it was very easy to access Happo One within 10-15 minutes on the shuttle. We shipped our skis to the hotel and while he didn't communicate well with us ahead of time, he held our skis and even helped us ship our skis to our next location easily. The only thing I would warn others is that there are limited restaurant options nearby (although there are a few within a 10-15 min walk) so plan accordingly or make a booking ahead of time that includes dinner at the property.

大浴場とありましたが、小さくて2〜3人でいっぱいな感じでした... 浴槽に入ると、他の方と近い距離になり、あまりくつろげませんでした。

Also not a fancy hotel, we have made our third family trip back to La Montaigne as it is simply a great great value for money. Yesterday we looked at five other similarly rated hotels and Pensions in Hakuba and nothing could beat La Montagne. The Japanese rooms are basic but bright and clean. The onsen in the basement is a godsend after a hard day on the slopes and the kids especially really appreciate this as part of our skiing routine. We also like that the hotel caters to mostly Japanese skiers.

The place is nothing fancy, but it is very affordable, run by a lovely old couple, we were the only foreigners in the hotel which made it feel more authentic . The rooms are basic, the on Sen down in the basement was fantastic after a cold day on the slopes, my kids loved all of us sleeping in one room on the role out futons. If you require five-star creature comforts this is not the place for you, on the other hand if you want a lovely and fun place to stay that meets all your basic needs then this is the place!

Rooms are filled with stinky cigarette smells. Super dusty beddings. First dinner on New Year Eve was massively disappointing. Trash is not cleared daily. No peepads provided for pets, only 2 pieces of Newspaper for 3 days. Everything else was acceptable.

We stayed for 17 days. The listing states "ski in / ski out access". This is untrue. The property is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. There are portions of the walk that are unsafe if there is snow in the side of the roads, busses and traffic have to stop and go around pedestrians. The ski shuttle stop is at the resort. Uber/Taxi was 12 USD one way at the time of our stay/this review. There is no breakfast or food whatsoever at this hotel. There is one microwave for the entire hotel. It was poorly functioning, had duct tape holding the knobs together, and had not been cleaned at all. The staff at this hotel did the minimum. They did not communicate about local amenities, provide advice, or make the inconveniences previously mentioned any easier. They did not help with Ski passes. Cleaning staff would enter our room and start cleaning while we were still occupying the space, getting changed, ect. They did not speak Japanese or english. We moved the bed at one point to retrive something that rolled underneath. There was so much filth on the floor it was unbelievable. 12 pairs of slippers, old food, and towels covered in dust build up. I tried to ask the front desk for a vacuum. They did not vacuum or allow me to use one. This is the budget option in this area for good reasons. The hotel website is very misleading. Buyer beware.

We were not in the main hotel, we were sent to the "annex" across the street. It was not clear when we booked that we would be in this other building. This annex is more like a run-down hostel than a hotel, right down to the pair of used underwear hanging by the shared sinks. The common areas in the annex did not have heat. And the heater in our room could barely keep up with the drafty windows. The wifi was nearly non-existent and barely strong enough to send emails. The onsen was in the main building, while the washrooms in the annex had a strong sewage smell. The hotel is a 5-10 minute drive from the main village, so plan accordingly. The area around it is quite nice and quiet with a couple of little cafes. The suggested walking time to Iwatake ski hill is an ambitious time; it took us twice as long to get to the lifts. Overall it was pretty disappointing.
