[Important: Introduction of the Matsumoto City Lodging Tax]
Due to revisions to the Matsumoto City Ordinance, starting with stays on or after Monday, June 1, 2026, guests will be required to pay the following lodging tax per person per night at check-in, in addition to the room rate.
■ June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2029: JPY 200 per person per night for stays of JPY 6,000 or more (excluding tax) (Breakdown: City JPY 100 / Prefecture JPY 100)
■ June 1, 2029 and later: JPY 300 per person per night for stays of JPY 6,000 or more (excluding tax) (Breakdown: City JPY 150 / Prefecture JPY 150)
*Even for reservations where the accommodation fee has been paid in advance by credit card or other means, please settle the accommodation tax at check-in.
*Please note that while the accommodation rates displayed on the screen include consumption tax, they do not include the accommodation tax. *Even for reservations made before May 31, 2026, the accommodation tax will apply to stays on or after June 1.
Starting 1 June 2026, changes in local tax regulations will require guests to pay an Accommodation Tax at various updated rates, which will be collected separately by the property at check-in.
