It's good to be able to enjoy a wonderful view of the ocean from the window. The service was first-rate and the breakfast was a buffet. The decoration is very nice, and the surroundings are natural. The lobby area was suitable for meeting and waiting.

When I checked in, the only hotel we remained in that didn't provide any language advice on meals, etc. As this was the first time, this hotel has hardly any English. However, the few employees they have are all exceptionally friendly and go above and beyond in communicating. The lobby appeared to have been some years ago, but it seemed to have gone through difficult times. For the resulting decline in tourists, be careful not to anticipate the level of attention you will discover elsewhere in Japan. The hotel appears to be run by the very few staff members who appear to be working there, so don't expect the care that you would find elsewhere in Japan. To start with, I never had a problem dealing with the front desk, and there was one woman in particular working there who took excellent care of us. The hotel is situated on a hill, but they have an elevator that will take you down the street. There are a number of closed lounges and eateries near the hotel. Some shops have already been renovated, but the town is still in need of renovations. We ordered a Japanesestyle room that I would suggest. There is a coffee shop there. When we arrived, the room was a little musty, but it didn't smell of cigarette smoke. A staff member did an unusual set of japanese soup and rice at the front desk. The buffet was delightful and offered a variety

The Plaza Hotel is a modern, clean hotel that is situated fairly centrally on a hill and offers sweeping views of Keennuma Harbor. You can access the roof from which you can enjoy an incredible 360-degree view. We were provided with a lovely room on the top floor. I can imagine how lucky we were because it didn't smell like cigarette smoke, as one reviewer noted. The staff is quite kind and, despite the fact that they don't appear to speak very much English, you can probably understand them. Guests should take advantage of the natural hot spring bath. Both an indoor and an outdoor bath, both with excellent views of the ocean, although some shrubs disguise them. The water is quite salty. Breakfast was the only meal we had at the hotel. With both Japanese and Western cuisine available, the food was fresh and plentiful. The dining room served buffet-style and was served in an industrial-scale dining area.

Because I wasn't aware of other big hotels nearby, I think this could be the big hotel in Kesennuma city. It has a stunning view of the stunning Kesennuma port. After the 311 tsunami, the small town is currently under reconstruction, but the hotel's location prevented it from becoming damaged. Comparative to the majority of Japanese hotels, this room is very spacious. I have a lovely, comfortable night there.

One of Kesennuma's few hotels is the Plaza Hotel, which washes away many of the main hotels in the aftermath of the recent tsunami. It is an older structure, and even though the lobby has recently undergone some renovations, it still seems outdated. Please keep in mind that the term nonsmoking does not even exist outside of the major japanese cities. Our nonsmoking room was probably the least smoky, and the hallways of this hotel strongly smelled of smoke. The window did open quite a bit, so it was not a problem, but those who are averse to smoking may want to reconsider. At this hotel, there are two types of rooms: western and Japanese. Despite having reserved a Japanese room, our Western room had two double beds and a very little bathroom. The Japanese rooms appear to have futonstyle linen, tatami floors, and larger bathrooms. The rooms have wired internet connection, and there is a bit of spotsty internet in the lobby. Visitors may also use a desktop computer in the lobby. The breakfast buffet is generous and offers a variety of options, including Japanese food and Western cuisine such as yogurt, sausages, and eggs. The mens and womens bathtubs are separate, and the hotel provides guests with robes and towels. The hotel is also close to
