This place was incredible! We loved our stay so much that we are going to visit again at a time we can stay at this hotel! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the slopes were right at the doorstep with a ski school for kids and sledding too. Transportation was available to take us to dinner at other places. The restaurant on site was exceptional, the breakfast was so good each day and then we had dinner with live music and had the most wonderful night. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful, cozy, lovingly managed inn right on the slopes of Happo-One. Ski-in/ski-out access with a dry room to store gear in the basement. Fantastic German restaurant on the first floor, serves filling and delicious set breakfast daily that was included with our booking, and we had excellent dinners there two nights during our stay. Limited hours for lunch (disappointed they were closed for lunch on certain weekdays, but not sure if that is due to COVID or just their standard operations). The room we stayed in was large and comfortable, included a couch, and had a beautiful view of the slopes; it was much larger than other Japanese hotel rooms we have stayed in at similar price points. One of our favorite things about the room was the *actual* king size mattress, rather than 2 twins pushed together with a large sheet fitted over them (again, typical of other Japanese hotels we have stayed in). The one very minor complaint we had is the bathroom didn’t have a Japanese warmed toilet seat and bidet. Overall, there are so many features in this hotel that really make it a unique and welcoming place. The restaurant is decorated with the owner/manager’s personal family possessions from Germany, and the staff are genuinely friendly and invested in your experience. On a sunny afternoon after skiing, we sat out front on the benches and sipped draft beers while chatting with the manager and watching skiers pass by. This place is truly special and not your conventional hotel.

Amazing breakfast and dinner at the hotel, amazing views of the mountain, and the location is perfect: you can honestly ski right to the hotel entrance from the Happo One slopes. The owners and staff are super friendly too.

We had a fantastic stay at Marillen! Truly a great place to stay while in Hakuba. Ski-in/out made it ultra convenient for the slopes, apres-ski drinks on the terrace every afternoon was great, and the food at Bernd's Keller was outstanding. Will absolutely be staying here again!

Quaint, rustic, classic. A European chateau ski in/ski out. Large room, simple bathroom, heated equipment room for warm and toasty boots in the morning. Naoko and Bernd were outstanding and run this hotel like a small bed and breakfast with all the personal touches! By far, were it not for them, this would be an average hotel. Absolutely eat at the hotel restaurant for dinner at least one night - our family of four all chose different entrees and they were all outstanding!

The hotel Marilyn is a real life, authentic, cozy hotel like staying in a hotel in the German alps. It's in a great location, directly on the ski slope. If there were Olympic medals for hospitality, then hosts nook and bend would win gold in every category. Their staff is professional and friendly, providing exceptional service. The German restaurant is also excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the extensive breakfast, lunch, and evening meal. Our stay was brief, but we came away feeling completely relaxed. We will definitely return, whether with snow or without snow!.

The owners of this hotel, Naokosan and Ben, took excellent care of us and our daughter. They helped us organize many trips and excursions during our stay and during our vacation. They also have numerous improvements planned for the hotel. I cannot express how wonderful they were during our stay. It was like going to an old friend's house, and we didn't want to go. It is a refreshing mountain air, colorful flowers, surrounded by mountainous scenery, and very serene and peaceful. The ones they recommended were excellent.

It will be nice to stay at this place again. I have been a customer here for around 10 years. They went above and beyond to ensure that our two families' nightly stay was as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The staff is extremely friendly, the room is warm, the wifi is stable, and the breakfast is Western-style. The room service is very good, and bend even picked us up from the slopes. Inside, there is a comfortable hot-drying room. German beer is readily available. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, and the last bit of snow has passed March. Janine, come back next year to have hakuna once more. There are numerous other places to eat outside in town that are conveniently accessible by foot.

I will recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely return. Having stayed at this hotel made the most wonderful weekend of my life. To make us feel at ease, they went above and above to help us get around. The breakfast was excellent and the room was tidy and cozy! It was an amazing experience when we also ate dinner there, with excellent service, amazing cuisine, and live entertainment. The children could go sledding right outside, and the skiing was right there.

This is the best option in Hukuna. This hotel offers everything. Excellent skin, wonderful rooms, and delicious food. The most important aspect is the fantastic hospitality of the managers, bend, and nook. They went above and beyond to make our stay great. If you want a bar with fantastic German beer that is impossible to locate anywhere in Japan, excellent german and european cuisine, a comfortable bed, and everything else, this is the best option.
