In nozawa, for our ski holiday, my husband and I took the risk of booking this traditional lodging, and while there was, of course, a culture difference, we couldn't be happier. We slept in the traditional tatami room, which had plenty of room, a kettle, and green tea. The staff went above and beyond to assist and understand us, and they were happy to wait for google translation! Every morning, we were treated to an amazing traditional breakfast, which was delicious! The best part was the location of the hotel, next to the gondola ski lift, which took us straight to the ski slopes. The location took care of all our ski rental and lift tickets as well, with a lovable Japanese man with all the necessary sizes for us to try on. Given that we didn't speak the language, it was a very simple experience. The location is also close to the town center, and the paid start was amazing after a long day on the slopes. I recommend making a reservation for dinner in the village the day before or you won't be able to get in anywhere. Lastly, the loving woman who owns the establishment drove us to the bus to get down the mountain. I would definitely return to this lodging.

The best part was the location right next to the gondola ski lift, next to the lodging, which took us straight to the ski fields. The place also handled our ski hire and lift passes, with a loving Japanese guy come with all the necessary sizes for us to try on. Being unable to speak English, it was a very simple experience for us. The location is also close to the town centre and the paid starting was amazing after a long day on the slopes. I recommend making reservations for dinner in the village the day before otherwise you won't be able to get in anywhere. Last but not least, the gracious lady who owns the place drove us to the bus to descend the mountain. I would surely go back to this accommodation.
