A budget hotel that is clean. Basically, you get what you pay for; it isn't a luxury hotel and that is reflected in the price.

Room is very pretty. Hot water, very cold AC, plentiful breakfast, amazing clean pool, very quiet. Very nice staff, always ready to help. Good internet

The hotel didnt have my reservation placed so I had a problem in the beginning. But the supervisors was friendly and helped us sort out the issue. Overall the other days run smoothly once we had our room the next day.

I had a great time. Very welcoming and comforting stuff. Available 24 hours attending our needs. Property is clean and the rooms are also ok. The tap water is soo salty, couldn't even wash my mouth with it. My only disappointment is the breakfast menu. Only one or two meals are available due to lack of ingredients. But the shefs tried to make the best from what they had. But all in all, we had a great time.

Ok for 3 nights. The breakfast included is minimal We didn’t have hot shower but was ok because it was hot too. Lots of power breakdown during the stay. The swimming pool is ok but sunbed very old. The staff is friendly. Room clean. No mosquito net during our stay. Just 10 minutes walk from the beach.

Located a bit away “from everything”. One guy at reception was very service minded, the rest terribly slow. Things not to like: Breakfast is from 7:30 to 10, but if you come after 9 half the dishes are gone including juice. On request for more I was given the same answer two days in a row; get up earlier! Seriously...? WiFi is terrible, on/off every 5 seconds. The drinkingwater they provide in rooms taste like 1942. Water in shower/tap is salty. In total quite a boring place that will never reach any form for heydays. Will not stay again.

Hotellet var overbooket, så de kunne ikke tilbyde os det vi havde booket, ej heller en seng hver. Vi har også sendt en klage til hotels.com vedrørende dette, men mangler fortsat svar.

We should have been able to predict how bad it would be by the fact that the hotel did not respond to two messages from us and repeated phone calls before we arrived. We should have cancelled then and there. We had selected the option to pay the hotel directly, and when we checked in (late at night) we were given the impression that we had to pay the full amount upfront. So we did. Huge mistake. The WiFi did not reach our room, despite being promised WiFi in our room and all public areas. Even in reception, the WiFi would keep cutting out. Electricity kept cutting out too. The fan in our room was fixed to the wall in an awkward way that did not allow us to position it to blow on us. The lights in the flat were red (yes, seriously, red!) so we couldn't even read in the evening. The breakfast was awful, and the cutlery provided was dirty (it had bits of food on it - disgusting). Turns out, we were the lucky ones. Other guests were complaining that they did not even have water in their room to shower. Other guests were turned away because they were overbooked (despite having already paid online). The manager's attitude was horrific. His response: "This is Africa." Long story short, Expedia arranged for us to relocate to another hotel. However, Diplomat Diani Beach Resort has still failed to refund us for the nights that we did not stay there, despite being instructed by Expedia to issue us with a refund. Stay away, and definitely don't pick the pay direct option.

I don't know where to start. First at all, it is not resort. It is like apartment village. When we checked in, they tried to give us a tiny room with single bed without fan (we booked studio with kitchen). We did not accept it, they gave us another one. Room was dirty. Fan or wifi did not work. Kitchen had 2 plates and cups, no stove or even water heater. Sink did not come water. Shower comes salty water directly from ocean. Laundry service by hands, dirty towels and sheets. It is not beach front, you need to walk 7min to beach middle of bush. Breakfast. Cold beans, cold pasta, chapata, sausage, cabbage, eggs. Bread sometimes, nothing to put on. One time had raw meatballs. If you are vegetarian, there is nothing for you to eat. First day we arrived we were tired and wanted to eat in “resort restaurant". They had many pages menu, but only they could serve was chicken, rice and fries. Total 8usd plate 1 chickenleg and rice, you have to wait 1,5 hours to come. Waiters brings the bill for you at the same time with a food, and rushing you to pay before you even touch your plate. Second and third night same thing, only chicken. We spoke directly with manager, that go supermarket and buy vegetables, meat, fish.. 4 nights, had only chicken. Waiter begging, please take chicken.. We took tuktuk to ukunda and ate delicious food with 2usd/plate. We asked stove and cooked our meals rest of the days. Bar they served mojito, no ice or alcohol, most bad my life. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
