Muntri Mews is very beautiful. We stayed on the upper floor. The bed was huge and built in and a bit high off the floor but manageable. Breakfast was a la carte and delicious. Location is great with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Staff most helpful.

This is a restored property, so it was such a treat to stay here during our stay in Penang. The history surrounding the property and the area is what we were looking forward to see, and we hope to go back in the future. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food at Mews Cafe is delicious. All in all, we had a pleasant stay.

I highly recommend staying here! We adore mantra mews. We stay there every time they open! The staff is wonderful, extremely accommodating and kind, and the lady manager is extremely pleasant and accommodating! The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and have a comfy shower in the bathroom. The terrace is wonderful and a fantastic location to eat lunch, breakfast, or drink! You should try their pastries, particularly the chocolate lava cake! On our next trip to Georgiatown, we'll 100 stay there again.

這是喬治城的古舊建築，以前是養馬的馬房。整間酒店的裝修都保留住昔日的古典味道，又有相當的現代感，很有精品酒店的感覺。這是我第二次入住。早餐的做法好像跟上一次不一樣，但用餐的環境依然令人身心舒暢。房間很大，而且裝潢很多都不一樣。酒店附設有個公共的交誼廳，是庇鄰的古老大宅改建而成，入面有舒適的座椅，也有古董麻雀（但翻來看，原來是橋牌）供住客耍樂。很有趣。

what an amazing experience. Living in such a well restored historic house was part of my Penang experience. I loved my room, and especially the bed, I slept so well. The shower and toilet is so beautiful and clean it’s very key to me when I travel. Linda at reception and staff overall are so kind and friendly. The other places around Chulia Street is buzzing with noise. I was greatly go in such a quiet space and within walking distance you join the buzz. Penang is a must visit and Muntri Mews a must. Don’t book at muntri grove unless you like their neighboring karaoke bar which goes on to 3am!!! Friends stayed they and had to move to Mews becos of the noise. But I give Muntri Mews 5 stars

It was recommended by someone who came earlier and it did not disappoint. The hotel was a refurbished Peranakan house with a lot of artefacts from a bygone era. Close to all the famous eats and nightlife. Spacious room w modern amenities. Warm friendly staff. Will come again!

We had an amazing time at Muntri Mews! It's central location, super friendly staff, the cafe, the lounge area with its preserved character, and the cozy and colorful room all made our time there great. We loved that we could walk to almost anywhere, and yet Muntri Mews was not in any noisy part of town at night. Definitely a must stay for anyone who wants to do the tourist thing in Penang and walk around.

Effective 1 July 2022, the Penang state government has introduced a Fi -Hotel Tax at RM2 per room per night. The tax is payable upon arrival or departure at the hotel and is not included in the room rate

About Muntri Mews Hotel

It is 300 m to the culturally-rich Chinatown and 450 m to the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery. Little India and Wonderfood Musuem are withing 800 m from Muntri Mews, while Fort Cornwallis is 1.6 km away. Clan Jetties of Penang is 2.5 km from the property. Penang International Airport is 18.5 km away. Decorated with artwork by local artists, suites at Muntri Mews open towards the hotel’s tropical gardens. Modern amenities include a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Each suite has a spacious living area with a day bed, and some have a veranda. Guests can approach the 24-hour front desk for tour arrangements, ticketing services and luggage storage. Muntri Mews also has a gift shop selling antique pieces, and a small business centre. Note : Effective September 1st, 2017, as per Government of Malaysia requirements, hotel guests who are not Malaysian citizens or long-term/permanent residents of Malaysia will be levied a tourism tax of RM 10.00 per room per night stay. Please note these changes in tax structure will result in revised taxes being charged and will be payable additionally during check in.

Penang Tax : Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. This fee is payable directly to the hotel upon check-in and is not included in the room rate and taxes stated herein.
