I stayed at family peace house all the time while in katmandu. Its a beautiful place, very comfortable, nice food and nice people. I highly recommended.

Family peace house is a budgetfriendly, simple, and somewhat rustic hotel with basic rooms and private bathrooms located at the back of the courtyard. The positives include friendly, helpful, and friendly staff, meals available, inhouse travel and tour booking, and laundry services, and a quiet location up the alley away from traffic off the paknajol mart in thamel. My only complaint was the showers, which ran warm and suddenly cold or even had no hot water when i used them after all the guests had theirs. One more anecdote. My host organized a fantastic private guided tour of the citys unesco heritage sites. He also booked my flights to everest and pokhara for the holi festival. But his contact with the airlines entered the wrong date on the computer. When the airline representative at the airport said there was no record of my booking, i initially panicked and contacted him via fb messenger. While waiting at the counter, he went into overdrive working to straighten it out between the airline reps at the airport and his main contact.

Staf sangat hangat dan ramah, selalu berusaha keras. Kamarnya bagus. Ketika kami check-in terlambat kami diberi kamar tua dan apek. Namun, kami langsung diberitahu bahwa kami akan mendapatkan kamar yang lebih baik keesokan harinya. Dan itu benar-benar lebih bagus. Kami berada di luar musim dan membutuhkan selimut kedua karena ruangan sangat dingin dan jendela tidak tertutup rapat. Kadang-kadang terjadi pemadaman listrik jangka pendek (tentu saja bank daya direkomendasikan). Layanan binatu tersedia. Lokasi sangat tenang, tetapi kamar dengan sedikit kebisingan. Ratio harga dan kinerja bagus.

I stayed in a private single room in the 'beehive' out back for about two weeks. This place is probably the best place to stay if you are fresh off the plane and dont want to wake up any hostel guests at 1 in the morning. Reason for this is cheap single rooms with comfortable beds and fast wifi. The staff are friendly and cheerful and will help you with anything you need. And of course, you are outside the center of thamel so its less stressful part of the world and nearby restaurants are cheaper!.
