The experience was terrible and not pleasant, if you ask me. During the train ride to Eindhoven, I made a reservation over the phone. The place seemed nice and well-rated, and a deal for booking without a credit card was available. But given the urgency, I did not notice the horrible check-out time 1700. It appears that the front desk wasn't open all day, so after realizing my mistake, I attempted to contact him. There was no answer on the phone listed on the website. I then attempted to use the early check-in request, but I received a response that the room should be cleaned. As it were, I and my partner had to wait 6 hours in the cold and windy eindhoven until the hosts decided to return to his venue, clean the room, and make it available. I tried to be nice and to cancel the reservation an hour after it was made without charging. Clearly against policy, but I believed in the owner's good faith and attitude. Better than waiting for me and me not turning up at the hotel. My gesture, however, wasn't appreciated. Free cancellation was denied. I cancelled it anyway, as no credit card was entered. Since I canceled, the owner send me a sum sums of how I must pay him the full amount of a night's stay. He also began threatening me with police and border

Don't let the self-styled boutique hotel description fool you, it's not. This is a standard guesthouse where the owner lives in the same building. The location is on a very pleasant street about 1012 minutes walk from the city center, however, there is nothing in the area and it is also a very dark and lonely walk back to the hotel at night, which I imagine some people feel uneasy. The hosts are decent and appear to be helpful. I didn't go through it, but make note of the extremely restrictive check-in times. I thought the room was poor, with uneven furniture, peeling paint, chipped walls, and falling door handles. Avoid a ground level room, I'd imagine it's very noisy next to the front door and no en suite. The owner claims that all rooms have en suite, which is not true, I was first offered a room without bathroom, and only when I said I had a guarantee was found that it was offered. All in all, a fairly dated traditional guest house with its own charms. Would I return, sorry no.

Would we return, but not with the bike? I discovered this tiny hotel from a previous guest. It was relatively simple to locate using a satnav, but without would be more difficult because it appears to be an ordinary house on an ordinary street in a Netherlands estate because it appears to be a typical house on an ordinary street. It wasn't a problem here because everything else was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was of continental quality, so no problem. Dinner on the night of arrival wasn't that straightforward, but the town center is only a short walk away, so it was easily solved. The only issue we encountered was parking, even on a street, car wise, it was simple, you could leave it anywhere but we were on a motorcycle, which was a little more difficult. Finally, we were able to get it in the front garden, but I didn't alter the indicator. Honest!

The Sycamore Hotel is a cozy place in the green neighborhood. The owner was kind, and the hotel was tidy. The journey to the center of the football field took about 15 minutes. The same is true of the main railway station. Each room has its own bathroom.
