Super hosts. Private separate accommodation in the loft room. You might expect a first floor room to be hot and cramped but it was truly the opposite. Well ventilated and very roomy with great bathroom and kitchenette facilities. Great hosts who made sure we had their number as a backup if taxis let us down. But turns out it was a lovely easy flat walk back from town to Eldonwood B & B.

Loved my stay at this bed & breakfast. The couple were very welcoming, very friendly and gave us great recommendations of things to do & see during our stay. The room was very neat and tidy and absolutely perfect for our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing hosts with a lovely property, within easy walking distance of Matamata Main Street. Room was well equipped and very comfortable. Bed was especially comfortable. Faye cooked breakfast from scratch and it was delicious. Hope we are able to return some day and would highly recommend.

The Eldonwood B&B is the perfect place to stay for a comfortable stay with a personal touch. Willie and Faye are absolute gems, friendly and personable with a genuine sense of caring for their guests. Their kind demeanor makes this a perfect stop for someone who enjoys a home-like experience while traveling. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The grounds are beautiful and well kept... a perfect pairing with the beautiful weather. I look forward to the day we come back!

The owners of this B&B were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable and provided us with a good nights sleep. The bathroom was modern, clean and had heated a floor. The included breakfast was excellent with many choices to eat. This B&B is minutes from Matamata town center by car and a 15 to 20 minute walk.

This place was great. The couple that host went above and beyond in both preparing for us and helping us in our travels. The home is very clean, very comfortable, and located in a very nice neighborhood. I can’t say enough.

My husband and I stopped in at this beautiful b&b for a night while visiting the hobbiton set. Willie and Faye were very accommodating, and gave us lots of tips for our trip. We stayed in the self contained loft which was beautiful and clean, the bed was incredibly comfy! The bathroom was very clean and modern. A great stay and very welcoming couple. Breakfast was very yummy with a great selection of foods, we left very full and happy, they even gave us muffins for morning tea on our way to our next stop. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Nice room at someones home. Easy parking. 5 min drive to matamata where you can find some restaurants. The hospitality is above what you can expect and they do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. Breakfast is delicious (great gluten free option, even if you're celiac).

The best thing was the welcoming experience Faye provided. I had to leave extra early the next morning and Faye made sure I had breakfast to go! The frittata was delicious, fruit was fresh - imagine if I had stayed for breakfast what feast I may have received! Room and bed was comfortable and warm. Very clean. I would definitely come back!

We were late to arrive the hotel for the lengthy travelling. However, there was no one to accept the phone call when we want to find their help when arrived and found a dark house. Even I called the Hotel.com to let them help to call, no one from the hotel answered the phone. Why they put the phone number there without mentioning the phone would not be functioned after which hour. After all, they sent me a message that they would suggest us to find another hotel if they know we would be late. My question is why they don’t make this notice when I booked the rooms. If so, I would consider another place. I have traveled many countries, and this is the first time we need to sleep on the cold street to spend the night as we couldn’t find other room vacancy. After all, they still charged to my credit card for something I have suffered. I really upset for what they did.
