I could put up photos of the amazing view of Glenorchy and the surrounds but chances are that you've already seen them and are now looking for a place to stay. The Lake House is comfortable and situated very close to the lake. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. Good because it's close to walk and get a better view down the lake or up towards the mountains where sections of LoTR was filmed. Bad because there are sand flies which will happily feast upon your bare skin. Make sure you wear good insect repellent at all times. We stayed in the King suite and it was a quite sizable room with a massive en-suite which included a separate bath. There is a small deck out the front where you could sit and have a coffee or a wine. WiFi was easy to access and suitably fast. The host was amazing and greeted me by name before I managed to tell her any more than the fact I was checking in. I felt that there was nothing that she would not have done to make our stay more comfortable if this was required.

We recommend this lovely accommodation to anyone visiting Glenorchy. All exceeded our expectations with outstanding mountain views, beautiful, shared kitchen and living room, generous breakfast, wonderful host, and fabulous lake and lagoon walks right outside the front door. Loved the deck, cappuccinos from the adjacent cafe, and ease of accessibility to both village and nature.

Wow what an amazing BB we couldn’t of asked for more, great friendly service from the 2 ladies at the Trading Post, beautiful fresh healthy breakfast, lovely wooden style house, out door spa, close to everything and push bikes if you have time or energy, warm and cozy loved it all.

I didn’t like the fact that it was sold as accommodation near Milford Sound, when that town is a 5 hour drive away.

Beautiful setting! Fragrant roses wafting in the air next to our private deck, where our lovely hostess delivered hot flat whites upon our arrival! Great jetted hottub with a view of the mountains! What more could one ask for!

It was a fantastic stay. The employees and locals are genuine and so friendly. What a unique location. The whole house was given to us and it was heaven. The breakfast was excellent and the fruit bowl was a nice touch! Had a hot tub in the room. We sat on the veranda and enjoyed a cup of tea and a few glasses of wine. We had excellent coffee and cake at the trading post directly next door. It's just the most idyllic location and heaven.

This place is not a hotel, it is a rental. The photos are accurate to the real, as it is apart from the slightly unclear house manual. We occasionally had a complimentary morning coffee. Although the cafe or the neighborhood outside were in peak season, there was no particularly bothersome noise. The tiny delicate is not directly attached to the property, and there is an ice cream machine just across the garden fence! The family home looked out over a lovely opengrassed area to the lake and the celebrated Glenorchy boatshed. There are no direct connection to the tiny delicate, but we were very helpful in using the delicates machine and dryer, which is actually confusingly in a locked room within the house with access to the cafe only during the day. During the evening. That worked nicely. Although there isnt any day laundry, we were extremely helpful in using the machine and dryer, which are actually confusingly in a locked room within the house and are only accessible during the day. Wonderful bbq and fantastic hot tub. Terrible comfortable beds, comfortable and cozy. The ladies in the cafe next door seemed to operate the establishment and were all incredibly helpful and pleasant. Although it was high season, there was no particular disturbance from the cafe or outside area. The one room upstairs, a spacious bedroom not used or required, was stifling and great for storage and clothes drying because it was hot

Glenorchy is a stunning, serene, tiny sprawling hamlet that is about 45 minutes by car from the relatively urban Queenstown. This is a private house, not a hotel, and was booked through airing except for a little confusing house manual the photos speak for themselves and are truetoreal. A very comfortable home a modest but useful kitchen in small, lovely gardens in the beautiful location of Glenorchy at the top of the lake. The house overlooked an open grassy area down to the lake and the iconic Glenorchy boatshed. There is an ice cream trailer right over the garden fence, and the property is adjacent, not physically tied to the little delicate. There is no daytime laundry, but we were very helpful able to use the delicates machine and dryer, which are in fact confusingly locked within the house and only available during the day. During the evenings that worked perfectly. Oddly, no brushes or brooms to sweep the kitchen floor, and no instructions on what to do with domestic or kitchen waste for no newcomers we worked it out. Great beds cozy and cool. Two mountainbikes are available for free at the cafe. Sometimes we got complimentary morning coffee. We didnt meet the owner, but the women in the cafe next door appeared to run the establishment and were all very helpful and friendly. Despite this being high season, there was no disruptive noise

The lake house was a well-appointed and very comfortable base for our stay. The views of the mountains were very breathtaking. Perfect size for our group of 6. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches, spa pool is a plus. Thank you.

Perhaps we didn’t read the write up Properly but we didn’t like the shared kitchen dining and lounge facilities also the free breakfast option is only an option if you can stay onsite after 8.30 am which didn’t work for us .Very clean and tidy but possibly a bit rich for money paid

Being given a room without internal hallway connection to the kitchen/tv area meant having to go outside in icy conditions to make morning tea. Luckily it did nt rain. This made a well presented property very uncomfortable for us . A simple coffee/ tea making in-room facility would have been helpful. Also the water flow in the shower was very weak. Beautiful bathroom though.

We are on our way from Milford Sound to Glenorchy but we have problem with the country code no to allow us to call them to inform them that we are late to arrive to the motel. For info, we are using spark no. We arrive the Glenorchy Lake House around 18:00 and we went to the Trading Post and motel but no one available. We went to the bar 'GYC Cafe and Bar' nearby Glenorchy Lake House and asked the guests inside on how to call the owner as stated at the Trading Post signage 'after hours 5pm, call 4424900 ' which is a different phone number from the information stated in the booking slip. We tried to call both numbers stated in the signage and in the booking slips numerous number of times but no one pick up the phone calls. Refer attachment 1. We waited in the rain for almost two hours until 20:00 at the front of the Trading Post which is stated in the booking slip but no one come to the area. We even go to the next house to ask if someone knows how we can enter the motel, but none available. We are lost and since we are not able to call Hotel.com customer service no from New Zealand, I tried to call my husband multiple times to call Hotel.com customer service on behalf of me. My husband lodge a report twice and even your customer service unable to contact the host. Please refer to your customer service call log. Since we have waited for too long in the rainy day and it is already late and we are extremely tired, we couldn't wait anymore and we deci
