Was welcomed by a very warm, friendly and helpful host. Nothing was too much bother to her. Room was clean, tidy and very comfortable with great views looking out to sea and also the Southern Alps when sitting outside on the patio. Huge ups to the on site laundry facilities at NO charge, that was brilliant.

Kaikoura was one of the most memorable stops on our New Zealand trip. The snow capped mountains over the sea are absolutely stunning. The staff at Kaikoura Beach motel were so friendly and communicative. We were traveling by train without a car so we opted to rent their bicycles to explore the coastline and the seal colony. They offered to store our luggage so we could optimize our time and resources. We had one of the most beautiful and memorable days pedaling along the coast. From the hotel, you can walk across the street to take advantage of the sunrise and sunset over the ocean. One thing we learned is that although our advance research indicated there were Ubers available in Kaikoura, once we arrived we found that there were no Ubers in the area and no taxis waiting at the train station. We had no idea who to call and ended up walking to the motel which is not a bad walk as long as you aren’t lugging heavy suitcases (which we were). Contact the motel for numbers for taxi and shuttle service in advance if you are arriving by train. We used the shuttle to return to the train station. The service at Kaikoura Beach motel was definitely a solid 10 for us.

This was a great little base for our kaikoura holiday. A short walk to town, great off road parking, clean and more spacious than expected. Staff were all lovely. Comfortable bed! Would recommend

Very clean beach front motel, good size rooms. Very friendly staff, who complained to a coach company for parking right outside our apartment without us even asking. The coach company duly obliged and moved on.
