Wonderful stay, comfortable bed, awesome shower, lovely friendly staff who stayed up late to check us in...thank you!! Close to town easy, to find and just the right amount of rooms to not feel crowded

Let's start with the positives. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the new carpet had lots of positives. No hot water, turned on the shower for a few minutes, then no hot water and had a cold shower! Very annoying! The pressure was good, but keep an eye out for the shower curtain sticking to your head! In the shower, there was no new soap, instead, we found a used piece of soap with hair stuck to it, disgusting. Luckily, we chose our own shower gel. Long-life milk in the fridge was filthy, not too generous with choices of tea and coffee. Orange street light came in all night. Some areas in this room require good cleaning. I'll post pictures. The price was average, about $145 for a family room.

We arrived late but made arrangements with the manager about where to get the key for our room. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were also very nice.

I spent two nights with my children while visiting family at the gate. They provided great beds with comfy showers. Despite having limited milk and coffee, it is still cosy and clean. Friendly and helpful employees. The awesome kids' pack across the street. and only a short walk to town.

The patrol motel fits the bill because it is a New Zealand antique town. It is its own antiquated, but don't let that keep you from enjoying it. If you pass and need a restless night to sleep, I would recommend the patrol motel. The rooms are spotlessly clean, warm, inviting, and really comfy. They are basic, not what you would find at an expensive hotel, for example, but they are reasonable value for money and give you a taste of genuine Kiwi culture. The kids will love the fantastic playground that is only a 30-second walk away. This will be great for kids of all ages, even the largest kids. My only complaint is not with the hotel but with the truck drivers that ignore the no engine brakes sign at 5 a.m.

This apartment was old but still clean and cozy. The owner was friendly and warm. This place has a good location for the bike trail, though there is a little shed for the bikes, but the room was big enough to store them. The hot water there was cool.

A convienent and comfortable room for the night. The motel was a mid-point stop and the room conveniently held for a late check in. Handy to the local supermarket and a short drive to Karangahake Gorge.

Motellet er meget slidt. Larm fra vej hele døgnet. Støj fra øvrige værelser kan nemt høres. Parkering lige uden for værelset. OK seng og god bruser.

I would recommend staying somewhere else. Bugs everywhere in the room, especially when it was night. I stayed in room 10 which sits in the sun all day. There are no blackout curtains for all the windows so the room gets very warm. The water from the sink tasted like dirt. But worst of all, The husband that runs the motel is a rude and impatient human being. Stay somewhere else.

If I could rate this business a 0 I would. The proprietors' attitude is very poor. No customer service ethic whatsoever and no communication skills. They provided no parking when we arrived at night and lost their tempers when we tried to park between 2 cars. Instead of yelling and being thoroughly unprofessional they should have provided proper parking for ALL their GUESTS. The room was very basic but the price reflected this. But the amount of flies in the room was worrying. We swatted 5 flies within 30 minutes. Would never EVER come here again.
