It’s an amazing place. The staff are warm and friendly. Breakfast was amazing. Only criticism is that the hot water in the bathroom doesn’t work very well. I’d definitely stay there again.

I'm obsessed. This property is beautiful. The guesthouse is close to the central part of the city (only 1-5 blocks depending on what you want access to). The staff was extremely nice. I felt extremely safe. There was a gorgeous pool, and a well-stocked kitchen for any cooking that you might want to do. I wish that I didn't have to leave!

Such a beautiful place! Lovely gardens, a nice little pool, and an open kitchen that guests are welcome to use if they'd like. We stayed two nights in two different rooms (two separate bookings). The first night was on the second floor, with a great balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. The room was very clean, had a super comfy bed, and in the bathroom we were in love with the garden next to the shower which benefits from the water runoff. The second night we moved up to the top floor to the big room. This room has gorgeous views of the town, all the way to the lake. It also has a big, comfy bed. No garden in the shower though. And we missed the balcony we had the next floor down. It allowed us to feel as if we were in the garden. You can open the big double doors in the upstairs room, but I made friends with one of the cats downstairs and we knew we'd have company if we left the doors open! There are cats on the roof, which is cool if you are me and love cats. But maybe not your preference if you don't. The upstairs room definitely had the feel of a space that is more romantic, mostly for the size and views. We had massages in room that were really, really awesome. The women they booked for my gf and I most definitely knew what they were doing. So, we loved this place even more for all the people they work with in other areas.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The owner lovingly refurbished the hotel and the care and attention to detail shows. The quality of the rooms is on a par with a 5 star hotel, and each is set around a beautiful atrium. The hotel itself is far enough away from the action to be tranquil but close enough to walk to the action. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a deal with a local gym if you like fitness and yoga. I spent five weeks travelling through central america and this hotel was easily the pick of the bunch. Highly recommended.

Best place we stayed at in Nicaragua, Amazing friendly staff and beautiful property. I even overpaid without realizing it for a tour and the next day the gave me back my money without me even realizing I had made a mistake. Extremely helpful booking tours and transportation. Amazing breakfast.

We loved our stay at Ms. Margrit’s. Nina, the desk clerk, had too-notch communication with us before our arrival. She was informative and quick to reply. She was just as helpful when we arrived. The hotel feels very tranquil with two lovely courtyards. There are some resident cats and turtles and a dog. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The women who fixed it were wonderful and learned our preferences for coffee/tea etc during our stay and made sure we had what we wanted. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We loved the garden-like shower. It was nice to be away from any crowds but this did mean a short (and pleasant) walk to get to the main square, etc. you could also take a taxi as taxis were quite cheap though we never bothered as the walk was fine. There are also a couple restaurants very close by that are good, too. There is a pleasant and well-maintained pool that many will find refreshing. It was too cold for me but I am a bit of a wimp with cold water.

Our room was great! AC inside with a nice outdoor bathroom feel due to the plants and open skylight. The breakfast was good, although I would skip ordering the pancakes as they are very thin and will most likely not fill you up. The host was very helpful and prompt with ordering tours; thanks so much for your help! I would recommend staying here. The location is within walking distance to the central park but still far enough away that noise was not an issue.

Just outside the main drag and a quick easy walk. We loved that it was quiet and we didn't hear the honking of cars, loud music, and everything else that's goes with it. Nina and her staff were great and she would book any tours or services that you needed. A/C was a big plus and the breakfast every morning was a nice touch.

We stayed 14 days here and it was a very pleasant stay. Beautiful surroundings and excellent helpful staff. Nina, the receptionist, was particularly cheerful and helpful. We had an excellent breakfast everyday - Nicaraguan or British style- served by the lovely ladies in the kitchen. Breakfast was served at a communal table which meant that we easily came into contact with other people from different countries and we could exchange our experiences. Super guest house for young and old. Thanks again to Nina, Diana and Chris for making our stay so pleasant!

I really enjoyed my stay at Miss Margrit's. The location in the Xalteva neighborhood is close enough to the Calzada and the tourist areas to easily walk, but it has more of a local feel which I really appreciated. The staff was great especially Nina who helped me arrange some travel while I was in town and she was always there to greet me with a friendly "hola". The full service breakfast was delicious. The hotel grounds are very tranquil and relaxing. A great place to read a book and enjoy the tropical foilage, fountain or pool. The owner, Chris, was always around and made sure everything was perfect.

Our experience was awesome. Staff is super friendly. They make you feel at home. Breakfast every morning was delicious and garden and pool cozy and nice. Property is in great condition. Our room had a great mountain and city view. We met really cool people and hope to get back in the future. They offer parking inside the property which is a big plus.
